"Why are you acting like this?!"

Because I'm scared.

"What are you saying these strange things for?!"

Because it's the truth.

"Why are so scared all the time?!"

Because I'm a werewolf.

I walked into the classroom quietly. I placed bag beside the legs of the table and I sat down at my desk. My table mate, Hong Jisoo, a Korean-America exchange student; looked at me briefly before continuing to scribble notes onto a blank music sheet.
I scoffed on the inside.
What a snob. Pretending to be all popular and all. He's really just a nerd. A nerd who can speak more than one language, loves anime and has great musical talent. But what a handsome face he-
"Y/N? Can you help me with this equation?" Vernon, the boy who sits behind me asked. I nodded and smiled kindly even though I was annoyed he interrupted my thoughts.
I walked up behind him and looked down at his book, seeing the unfinished homework from yesterday's math class. I sighed and kneeled down beside him, grabbing the pencil he was holding. I explained everything as detailed as I possibly could. Though I wasn't looking at him, I could feel him staring at me.
It's a threat! He's trying to hurt you!
I stood up suddenly, causing Vernon to replace his intent expression with a shocked one.
"Are you okay?" Vernon asked with a concerned voice.
"Um, yeah. Just back pain from kneeling. Do you understand it?" I said all in a rush. Before he could answer, I responded for him; "Okay good." His mouth was left hanging open as I sat back down in my seat.
I could feel my muscles tensing from fear.
Doesn't he know you aren't supposed to stare at dogs like that?
My breathing became heavier as instinct kicked in. Usually, if this was home, I would run away. But this was school. If I felt threatened at school, I was basically screwed. There was nothing I could do to stop the animal in me take over. I just had to wait for my human self to find its way back.
But today, it was worse than ever. Maybe it was because I wasn't really used to Vernon yet? New people or dogs are scarier than the ones you're familiar with. At least with this Hong Jisoo kid, I was around him long enough to have accepted his smell, and gorgeous facial features. But I hadn't known Vernon for very long. Maybe four months at the most. He was just too new for me to accept.
I didn't really know him, in terms of his interests and hobbies. I knew that he is half-Korean, half-American. And I knew he moved to Korea at the age of five. But other than that, he was really a stranger to me.

The thing about werewolves is; they don't just turn into their wolf form when it's a full moon. Fear and pressure than cause it too. It's like amour. We feel more protected and powerful as dogs. We aren't really dangerous; well not unless you provoke us or we feel intimidated. Of course our vicious instinct can play a part every now and then, but it's unlikely.

I could feel myself changing. My pupils had dilated- and yes; it is something we can detect physically. I felt my fang teeth growing longer and pushing the bottom of my jaw downwards. Out of all my fears, transforming in front of humans was the biggest. I couldn't take it, so I ran out of the classroom suddenly. I headed straight for the rooftop. Why? I don't know. I just liked the rooftop.
I sprinted, dashing past teachers and other students. I could hear my homeroom teacher yelling after me as I passed her. But someone else's name rolled off her tongue.
Yes. Of course. Vernon.
Why him of all kids? Even hottie-snobby would've been better than Choi Hansol!
As I resumed my escape, I could feel the noticeable changes occurring. My skin was slowly becoming covered in thick, brown fur. Claws were protruding out of my hands and feet, replacing my finger and toe nails. And my body was basically being pulled apart and reshaped into a hound-like figure.
I continued to run up to the top of the school. The stairs were slowing me down, but I let my inner canine take my feet faster. I pushed open the heavier door of the roof and closed it behind me, locking it once I reached the top. I was scared. A panic attack. It had never happened like this ever before. And certainly not in public. I found my way to a corner and slid into it as my body finished transforming. I wonder if anyone saw the transformation in process? I really hoped not.
I laid on the cold ground as my fur was being blown around by the wind. The breeze was nice. The sky was pretty clear. The ambient sounds of the streets below were pretty soothing.
"Y/N!"
I heard a desperate shout. It made me shoot up from my spot and whimper fearfully.
What would happen if I just jump off this rooftop right now? Can I?
"Please, open the door!"
