Five months had passed since Taylor finished the Red Tour. Her relationship with Karlie was stronger than ever; they were still very much in love. They decided that it was better to lay low for a little while and keep their personal business to themselves; they just weren't ready to come out yet. Taylor's album Red was nominated for the Album of the Year grammy. She wanted Karlie to attend the Grammy's with her, but she had a photoshoot in Paris that weekend. Grammy night was one to remember; the announcer dragged out the 'R' in Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, making Taylor think for a split second that she had won. She was devastated, she went home that night and cried herself to sleep. She woke 4am that morning, knowing that her next album would be explicitly pop and it would be called 1989. She already has some songs for the album, she had been working on them while Karlie was away at work.

Taylor sneaks out of bed, trying her best not to wake Karlie. Joe and Meredith were asleep at the foot of the bed; it was the cutest thing ever they got along so well. Taylor throws on a jumper and some shorts, grabs her phone and makes her way to the kitchen. It's Karlie's birthday and she wants today to be a perfect day. She starts off by calling her Mom, to see if she had taken care of Karlie's gift and to see what time they should come there for dinner, then goes on instagram to make a birthday post. When she's finally done with that (she had to change her message three different times, she finally settled with a picture from their roadtrip and "Happy Birthday to my dear Karlie who is made of 100% sunshine"), she starts cooking pancakes for breakfast.

"Mmm, babe. What's that smell? It smells amazing."

Taylor turns around and stifles her laughter. Standing in front of her is a sleepy Karlie Kloss with disheveled hair, in her underwear and an inside out tee.

"Morning sleepyhead, I'm making pancakes for breakfast."

"My favourite!"

Karlie has found her way behind Taylor, wrapping her arms around her and resting her chin on Taylor's shoulder; these are the moments Taylor loved.

"I know, I was going to bring you breakfast in bed, but you woke up before I could."

"Whoops. Maybe we can have breakfast, then go back to bed."

Taylor put the last pancake on the plate, turned off the stove, and turned around in her girlfriend's arms, giving her a peck on the lips.

"Hmmm, I'd like that, then I can give you your first birthday gift. Happy birthday, Kar. I love you."

They devour their pancakes, both wanting to get back to the bedroom as soon as possible. A couple of hours later, Taylor and Karlie had showered, and were now sitting on the couch, watching SVU reruns. Taylor is thinking about Karlie's next birthday gift; she wants to let her listen to her new album before anyone else, but she's nervous because what if she doesn't like it?

"Tay, where did you go just then?"

"Oh, um. I have another birthday gift for you, but I'm feeling really nervous about giving it to you now."

"You know whatever it is, I'll love it."

"That's the thing. If you don't love it, you need to tell me because it's my next album. I don't want to put it out if you're not completely in love with it the way I am. It's called 1989, you're the first person to hear the entire thing. And uh, most of the songs are about you, and uh, some are about Dianna...but I just want you to know that I don't have those feelings about her anymore, I just love yo-"

"TAYLOR! It's okay, you were in love with her and she broke your heart. You don't have to explain yourself. Please, just let me hear it."

Karlie was jumping up and down like a child on Christmas. Taylor took out her phone, took a deep breath and pushed play.
