CHAPTER 21: AWAKE

Two days after Adam and Dani had arrived, Dani still hadn't waken up.

Adam had gone to sleep once and refused to go back to sleep. His nightmares terrified him.

He sat by Dani most of the time.

He was slowly drifting off to sleep when Dani's shot up in a sitting position gasping, eyes wide, which startled Adam, so he was now sprawled out on the floor.

Hearing the thud from Adam, Sam and Dean ran to the door to see Dani hugging Adam.

She was whispering something to him.

Percy and Samandriel peaked around the door frame and they both ran in and joined the hug.

When they finally parted minutes later after Dean had cleared his throat.

Dani crouched in front of Percy, "Why don't you and Samandriel go play in the library with Kevin? I'll be in there in a moment," she promised.

The two of them trotted out of the room, their steps becoming inaudible in the distance.

Dani sat back on the bed and spread her arms, "Go on, yell at me, ask away, I know you want to."

Cas poofed in.

Adam instantly becomes glued behind Dani, clutching her wing like his life depended on it.

"How did you get in and out of the cage without getting stuck there or releasing either Michael or Lucifer?" Cas questioned.

Dani scoffed and said, "It's not that hard. Just a few spells, ingredients and a touch of magic."

Dean raised an eyebrow, "So you're a witch now too?"

Dani rolled her eyes, "I learned a few of the odds and ends of witchcraft in my spare time. In my opinion, it was worth it."

She glanced at Adam. "You should be happy I did learn it. Otherwise, your brother would still be with them. Although, I wouldn't have made it back out alive if Michael hadn't stepped in and distracted Lucifer."

Adam's grip tightened at the mention of their names. Sam asked, "How did you know where Adam was? Where were you living?"

She sighed and said, "Samandriel still overhears conversations on the angel's mind link. They were talking about Micheal and Adam popped up. So, after a few hours of reading, I found a couple spells to restore his sanity and get me in and out of the cage. I was living in Oklahoma."

Dean asked, "Before you passed out, you said you'd been tortured by Crowley."

She sighed and glared at him, "Yes, I was tortured by Crowley. About four months after I'd run off. He wanted to know where the bunker was. I spat in his face and he put me in a room with Samandriel and had me chained to the wall with silver. After all, everything he had was silver. When Cas poofed in and grabbed Samandriel, I knew something was off with him so I ripped the chains off and chased him to the car. Where I flung him across the parking lot, and then went to Bobby's, went into labor, moved to Oklahoma, got Samandriel, then appeared back in my apartment where the portal had been set. Crowley was waiting there with some hounds. After I butchered all of them, I flew here and crashed into your door and you already know the rest."

While she let that sink in, she walked past them and went into the kitchen.

Adam trailed behind her, Percy ran up to her and hugged her again.

Kevin grinned, "It's good to see you again Dani. It's been awhile."

Kevin joined the hug and so did Samandriel. Adam awkwardly stood there until Percy pulled him into the hug too.

"So who's hungry?" Dani asked as she separated from the hug, leaning against the counter.
