Sirius Pov
All of the Aurors and Members of the order were at this big gathering. I really dont know why but honestly neither does any one else. James and Lily have been taking more shifts. I figured because with all thats happening they want to stop it for the future generations of Children and Aurors.
They both had worked 5 shifts each. But Lily still looks more alive then Prongs does. I really dont know how. I realized what was happening when a reporter pulled out a camera. Lily whsipered to me "Dont worry hes a friend of mine. Hes a photographer/reporter. I made sure it isnt going into the daily prophet. By the way this was all my idea. Dumbledore approved himself."
That makes more sense. Before I could ask her another question shes already vanished from behind me and is standing beside James. The guy takes the picture then leaves. Then he leaves. We had a small party of sorts. I sat alone while everyone else was dancing. Marlene and I were having rough times in our relationship. Its all because of me. I wasnt sure I was ready for a real relationship but I really love her so much.
I felt a warm hand grab mine "Hey Sirius, is everything going ok with you and Marlene?" Lily asks
"No, She got mad when she found out that I wasnt exactly sure of what I wanted with our relationship. Im scared of getting my heart broken by her. I really do love her Lily. I dont even think she feels the same way anymore." I say
"Oh I was told about that, She loves you to Sirius I can tell." Lily says
"How?" I say
"Because I see the way she looks at you. She loves you too. And if she doesnt thats her loss. Your nice, funny, clever, and a smart man Sirius. Everything does get better Sirius, not always in the way you expect." Lily says
"Im suprised James isnt here." I say
She doesnt look hurt by this but she says "Oh he wanted to. I told him no, let me handel this one." She says with a slight smile.
Shes on her knees looking me in the eyes as she talks. Her warm hands are on my colder ones. "Sirius, Is Marlene the girl you want." Lily says
"Yes, Shes perfect for me. I really love her. I love the way she laughs at my jokes, the way her eyes sparkle when she is so interested in something, I love that shes so loyal to you and Alice, Her smile lights up mt world. I love everything about her. Shes the only girl who makes me nervous to talk to. Shes the only one Ive ever dated who likes me for who I am." I say
"You know it will work out for you, explain to her in the most romantic way possible. Show her how much she means to you Sirius. Nothing to huge but a sweet simple gesture. Here." She says she makes a boquet of roses appear.
"I dont understand how you can do that Lily." I say
"Do what?" She asks clearly confused
"Believe anything is possible, You believe things will get better. You believe in me. You see the beauty in everybody." I explain
"Well, I guess because if you dont believe then your basically giving up. Things do get better Sirius, just not always in ways we excpect. Why shouldnt I believe in you. Now go get your girl Padfoot." Lily says
I was taken back for one minute buy said "Thanks Evans."
"Your welcome, now go get your girl. I have to go back to James before he beats the living crap out of you for talking to me for this long." Lily says
I laugh, my laugh is more like a dogs bark. Get it Padfoot? Barking laugh?
Ah nevermind.
She gave me a warm smile and a gentle kiss. Then she just dissapered. Seriously gotta ask how she does that. I figured this party was all Dumbledores idea because he is here and is talking with a few aurors. Alastor Moody was the only auror during auror training who believed that I was really there to fight against Voldemort.
I gathered all of my courage and walked over to Marlene.
"Hi." I say
"Hello." She replies
"Marlene, I love you. Im sorry if you didnt know. I was just scared of you not feeling the same way. Marlene Mckinnion, I love you so much. Do you love me?" I say
"I love you to Sirius." She says taking the roses from me
I kiss her. I feel a spark that Ive never gotten before only when I kiss her. A voice says "I see you both are back together." Moony says
We brake apart both red as Evans hair. Lily and James and Remus has huge grins spread across their faces.
"Lily!" Marlene says
"What? It wasnt my idea for us to come over and ruin a special moment, and besides Im not that mean." Lily says innocently "And besides What he said was sweet." Lily says "And it was James Idea!"
The rest of the party was amazingly fun. We apperated back to the Potters house. We all just sat around. Lily and Remus are reading. Everyone else was playing exploding snap. "Do you guys think that we will make it through this?" Lily says
"Of course, As long as were together." James says
"Lily is that dream getting to you again?" Alice asks taking a glance towards Marlene
"No-Maybe-Possibly-Yeah." Lily says
"What dream?" Remus asks
"This Nightmare of sorts that I have sometimes. It always starts as a man in a dark black cloak you cant even see his face. Brakes into a cottage and There was another person who I somehow automatically knew it was James said 'Lily Take Harry and Run! Its him!' I have still no clue who Harry is but I have my suspissions. I wasnt looking down at the scene I was looking at this from Older Lilys eyes. I always ran into the same room. All I knew I was I was going to guard Harry with all of my abillity. The cloaked figure makes the door explode. The cloaked person tried to get to Harry but I never moved the dream always ends with a powerful flash of green and I wake up." Lily says
I noticed that James couldnt even say anything.
Lily and James are a little while away from getting married.
Lily does look like she wants to brake in half from fear. She finally burst into tears and was shaking from crying.
"Hey Evans, its gonne be ok. As long as were together. We can defeat this and make a better life where nobody has to live in fear." Prongs says
Lily nodded. She took a few minutes but did calm herself down.
"Hey Lily, whens the last time you actually slept for a long time? You to Prongs when did you last sleep all night?" I ask
"3 days ago." Lily mumbled
"Prongs! Lilypad!" I say
"We volunteer for everything because we know that we need to do this for a better Life for us and everyone else. We know it isnt healthy at all, but it makes us feel like we have more value if we take these jobs." Lily exclaimed "Anyone in here cant look me in the eyes and say me and James will survive all of this. Not one of us knows the real truth behind that. You never know. James or Myself coulf see death tommorow." Lily exclaimed
I looked at her eyes and I noticed black circles under her eyes obviously from lack of sleep. I am an idiot! I cant let my best friends work themselves to death. I cant force them to do anything. They are adults. James had the same look to his face. pleading. Pleading me to stop. But I couldnt. I stopped talking yes but I just staired at my best mate Prongs. Why do all the best people do this.
