Halcyon (쇠새) is a multinational girl group based in Seoul. Formed by SM Entertainment, the group debuted in 2015 with seven members: Izumi, Lin, Sohyun, Xhiu, Sora, Juyeon, and Qian. However, in mid-December, leader Izumi and main dancer Sohyun departed from the group.
The group as seven members debuted on October 2nd, 2015 with their song Party and would later, on December 5th, 2015 debut a subgroup by the name of IJX which consisted of Izumi, Juyeon, and Xhiu. They were shortly put on hiatus after the departure of Izumi.

October 2015: Debut Debuting on October 2nd, 2015, Halcyon performed with their title song Party on the hit show "Show Music Core" where they performed live for the first time ever.
Two days after their debut and performance, the group released their first mini-album.
October 2015: Comeback with Hurt Locker Only a month after their debut, SM Entertainment began to release teasers for Halcyon's comeback.
SM Entertainment released the first teaser on October 23rd, 2015 and on November 13th, 2015 the girl group released their music video and album titled Hurt Locker.
December 2015: Debut of IJX On December 4th, 2015 SM Entertainment announced that Halcyon would be having their first subunit, IJX. The subunit would consist of members Izumi, Juyeon, and Xhiu. IJX debuted only a day after the announcement on December 5th with their song Dear Santa and soon after released their first mini album For You.
December 2015: Departure of Sohyun and Izumi On December 9th, 2015 SM Entertainment released a statement stating that Halcyon's leader Takashi Izumi and main dancer Song So-Hyun would be leaving the group. Halcyon would now be continuing work as a five-membered group and that Halcyon and IJX would be going on hiatus.
