021 | Chapter Twenty-One

"I'm going to be going home for the holiday's." Xhiu said as she took a sip of her drink. Everyone was sitting on the ground in the living room surrounding the table which was covered in food and drinks.

"I think I might too." Lin mumbled as she grabbed a piece of candy and popping it into her mouth.

"I think we all should, honestly." Sora interjected.

"My mom wants me to go home for the holidays anyway." Qian said, Juyeon nodded in agreement and then it was silent.

"What're we going to do?" Juyeon questioned as she laid her head on the cool table.

"We'll work it out. This has happened to many other bands before, we can get through it." Xhiu assured although even she was worried about what they would do. Xhiu's phone buzzed on the table and she saw she had received a text from Kyungsoo.

Kyungsoo: We're going out somewhere. I don't care if we're spotted. You need a break.

"You can go," Juyeon said as she looked at Xhiu's phone, Xhiu looked up and gave a sheepish smile as she locked her phone.

"Are you sure?" She questioned

"Of course, have fun and be safe." Juyeon replied, Sora snorted at the last remark making the others gape at her in shock. A knock sounded at the door and the girls snapped out of it, Xhiu stood and walked over to the door, opening it to reveal Kyungsoo.

"You didn't even let me know you were on your way." Xhiu said with wide eyes.

"Let's go." Kyungsoo said as he grabbed her hand, pulling her out the dorm.

"I don't have makeup up and I don't have my stuff!" Xhiu exclaimed but she still didn't let go of his hand. Kyungsoo pressed the elevator button and pulled her inside as it opened. He pressed for the doors to close and pressed for the ground floor. "Kyungsoo–"

"You look nice without makeup, and don't worry about your stuff." He said as he looked over at her.

Xhiu gave a small smile, "Where are we going?"

"You'll see in a bit." He replied, Xhiu rolled her eyes, but still smiled once she looked down at their intertwined fingers.

"It's just behind that tree." Kyungsoo said as he tugged on Xhiu's hand.

"I'm tired and my legs hurt." She groaned, "This is so sketchy I feel like I'm going to be murdered." She mumbled, Kyungsoo chuckled.

"It's nice behind the tree, there's a nice view of the city." He replied

"View of the–" Xhiu's eyes widened as they finally made it to the tree where there was indeed an amazing view of Seoul. The tree was on a a hill just outside the city and Xhiu was surprised he knew of this place. There was a forest behind them that Xhiu had insisted they stay away from, but Kyungsoo insisted that they had to walk through it to get to the largest tree which they stood underneath right now.

Xhiu released Kyungsoo's hand and sat down on the ground, staring out over the city. Kyungsoo looked down at her and sat down beside her.

"It's a stupid question, I know it is, but are you okay?" He asked quietly as he pulled at some of the grass below them.

"Honestly," She breathed, "No, I'm not." She whispered as she covered her face with her hands, suddenly glad she wasn't wearing makeup since she had started crying. Kyungsoo carefully wrapped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her into him. She clutched onto his jacket and cried into his shoulder as he held onto her. "I feel like I have to have a smile on all the time for my members now because I'm the eldest and now they'll come to me when they need me. I love them so much and I don't want to let them down."

"They feel just as you do, Xhiu." Kyungsoo mumbled as he gently started to stroke her hair. "You won't let them down, I know you won't." He said, Xhiu looked up at Kyungsoo and the two locked eyes. "I can see right through you, Xhiu. If you ever need to talk you know I'll be here." He said quietly as he placed a hand on her cheek, gently wiping a stray tear off her face. He kept his hand on her cheek and gave a small sigh. "I–" Xhiu reached up and placed a gentle kiss on his lips before he could speak. Kyungsoo froze, surprised by what she had done before he closed his eyes and kissed her back.

Xhiu pulled back after a moment and looked down, "I'm sorry," She whispered, but Kyungsoo shook his head.

"You have no reason to be sorry." He said with a small smile as he tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"We should um... Get back home..." Xhiu said as she covered her cheeks making Kyunnsoo chuckle. Kyungsoo stood first and held out a hand for her, she gingerly took his hand and stood. "Thank you, Kyungsoo." Xhiu said as she moved a bit closer to him and tightening her grip on his hand. This time, Kyungsoo looked down and smiled and their intertwined fingers.
