"Evie please have a seat." Max says as we enter his office.

Eric puts his hand on the small of my back leading me to a couch. He sits down and motions for me to sit next to him. I graciously take it.

"Evie, we have an offer for you?" Max continues. "We, meaning the other leaders and I, think that you would be someone Dauntless needs in leadership."

I feel Eric moving closer to me and he wraps his arm around my waist pulling me closer to him.

"How so?" I ask Max.

"You knocked out Four. Some of our leaders couldn't even do that." Max says catching my interest.

"You mean some of the leaders couldn't beat my brother." I scoff. "He's so petty." I look at Eric, "Please tell me you can beat up Four?" I ask. He curls the hand that's not around my waist into a fist. "Are you serious?" I practically scream, running my fingers through my hair.

"Your brother is a very interesting fighter." Max says, "But you, you are much better than he is." I smirk when he says that. "You hardly even sweat when you fought Molly. And just barely broke a sweat when fighting Four."

"That's because it wasn't challenging." I say adjusting myself in Eric's arms.

"But what I don't understand is how you're test result was Erudite." Max asks.

"I guess I'm an Erudite, with a bit of a temper." I say.

"So you're not a Divergent?" Max asks with a raised eyebrow.

"HA, I've read about those. If I was one I would have killed myself by now." I scoff. "Divergents will be the down fall of society. And I won't let that happen." I move my eyes down to my hands, "I've also heard that whenever they let someone close to them, they always get hurt, physically or emotionally."

"It's great to hear that. You're dismissed." Max says, returning to his work.Eric stands offering me his hand. Which I take.

Once outside I thought he would pull away. But instead he pulls me closer. I look up at him with my eyebrow raised.

"What?" He says looking down at me with his bright blue eyes.

"I thought this was an act?" I say confused.

"It was at first." He pulls me closer to him. I put my hands on his chest.

"At first?"

"Yes, I thought you were just a pretty face. But you have proven to me." Eric says moving himself, so his lips are grazing my ear, "You are so much more."

"Eric, you're making me blush." I whisper back.

"Good." He says before crashing his lips on mine. At first I'm shocked, but his warm lips are so inviting I start to kiss him back. "You taste so damn amazing." He whispers.

"Why are you so much taller than me? You are literally a foot taller." He laughs at my comment.

"I'm 6'1, I doubt I'm a foot taller than you."

"I'm 5'2, you're basically a foot taller."

"It's a good thing I like short girls." He says putting his hands on my thighs, and picking me up, "Is that better?"

"Not yet," I wrap my legs around his waist, and crash my lips on his. I can feel him smiling into the kiss. I say, "Now it is." Between the kisses.
