When Rules Are Destroyed

"This is the non-emergency phone line, what's your problem?"

After I washed up Jay and Elli, I got them something more edible then cookie dough in their stomachs. I got them into their PJ's, we sat down in the living and watched what seemed to be a never ending repeating of the movie Toy Story 2. I haven't gotten out to buy the third one yet. Half way through the movie I was tired of hearing that damn screaming cat noise that was coming from my lovely bastard of a neighbor's latest fuck.

"Mommy?" Jayden spoke quietly as if I was still mad at him for the cookie dough incident earlier.

"Yea baby, whatcha need?" I looked down at him where he was sitting in front of the couch.

"What's that noise?" he asked. That was the point where I got mad, I was NOT going to have the bird and the bees talk with my FIVE year old, no that was not going to happen. I pulled out my cell phone and called, "This is the non-emergency phone line, what seems to be the problem?"

"I'm calling to report a formal complaint, there has been a loud noise coming from my neighbor's house for a while now." I smirked when I thought about how their plans would be stopped by police knocking on the door.

"Okay ma'am, we'll send a police officer over to see what I going on and to inform them that they need to quiet down. Now ma'am what is your address?"

"7356 Eagle Way, San Antonio, Texas." I quickly gave her the address, still having that smirk plastered on my face.

"Okay miss thank you for calling it in, we will sort it out shortly. Have a nice night ma'am." The operator said almost in a bored tone.

"Thank you ma'am, and you too." I replied hanging up the phone.

"Mommy who did you call?" Jayden's voice rung in my ear as he jumped up into my lap, making Elizabeth turn since she fell asleep part way through the movie.

I smiled when I couldn't help but say, "Ghost busters!" laughing at my own joke Jay just looked at me like I was off my rockers. "Sorry baby I just called the police". When I saw the flashing blue and red lights coming in through the curtains and heard the police sirens blaring it woke up Elli as she looked around confused at what was going on. I picked Elli up and put her on my hip as I walked out the front door to see what is happening, since the screaming cat hadn't stopped. When we got out I looked around to see everyone outside looking over to Brody's house. When I looked over to his house I saw him open the door in his boxers with Ms. Dae attached to his hip in nothing but a small baby pink bathrobe. I couldn't hear what the police officer was saying but the look on that bitch's and his face was priceless. Brody just shook his head yes as if he was saying they'll quiet it down. After a few minutes the police officer left and everyone went inside besides me and the kids, I looked over to make eye contact with Ms. Dae so I just smirked in her direction and looked at a very pissed off teacher so I winked and turned to go inside. It was about 8 o'clock so I went upstairs to put them to bed and read them a short bed time story. Elli was out when her head hit the pillow and Jayden was a few minutes after her. When I got back down stairs, there was that damn banging on the door again.

I swung the door open to see a bright red faced Ms. Dae, my face turned sour when I looked upon her in a barely there see-through baby pink robe. I mean seriously? Have some self-respect lady! "Can I help you?!" I asked with a pissed off look on my face.

"You really had to call the police cause you were jealous and couldn't be involved? I wouldn't blame you really cause look at him" pointing behind her, noticing for the first time Mr. McClain was standing right there also. "he's definitely a looker" she said winking at me.

"No, I didn't call because I was jealous. I called because my five year old little boy heard and asked what that noise was. I was not about to explain what you two were doing, I wasn't going to explain the bird and bees talk to him! I'm going to assume that you didn't little little miss bitch what I was going to do if she stepped onto my property?" I looked straight into her eyes as I said the last part to see her gulp. Hey I guess he did tell her. "Now Ms. Dae and Mr. McClain, get the FUCK off my property and the next time either of you knock on my front door I will open the door and punch you right in your fucking faces. I will not be bothered about it either." I shut the door and turned around to go into the kitchen for a small drink of Crown Royal. As soon as I poured it into the small glass and lifted it to my mouth, there was a pounding on the door. I slammed the glass down and said, "Are you fucking kidding me?" when I heard a little girl cry from upstairs. I put the glass down and walked to the front door not stopping to see who it was and opened the door. I instantly felt terrible when my balled up fist collided with Amelia's red puffy face as if she's been crying all night. My hand flew up to my open mouth in shock, "Ame (pronounced M-E) oh my god are you okay?!" I reached out to cup her cheek with my right hand and my left to the back of her head.

"Why- did- you hit- me?" she sputtered out in between crys.

"Come on in I'll tell you later, now tell me why are you crying sweety?" I pulled her into the house shutting the door and dragged her into the living room where she sat down and started to cry some more. "Honey, you're scaring me. What's wrong?" I sat down beside her rubbing her back.

"My- parents-..." she trailed off not making any sense, the first thing that popped into my head was something terrible just happened.

"What about them hun..." I asked carefully. That was when the dam broke and out came tears more then before.

"They- car accident- killed-..." my mouth fell open hitting the ground, falling through and hitting china on the other end. Tears were brought to my eyes when I realized what had happened.

"Oh darlin'!!" I pulled her into a hug and let her cry out on my shoulder. Her parents were amazing, they were a second family to me. They absolutely adored Jayden and Elizabeth, the were always there for me when I needed help with the kids. I couldn't believe they were gone. I felt terrible since she was now on her own, no other family to take her in. Her aunt died of OD a couple years ago and her dad was the only child. Her grandparents died when she was a kid. The other grandparents were rude and didn't want anything to do with her. She was 18 so she couldn't go into foster care for a while; I instantly knew what I had to do...

so I updated! haha sorry for such a long wait! love all of you who are reading this story!
