Chapter 15


|| Leo's pov ||


I open my eyes and I see blurry shapes of what surrounds me.

I wipe the tiredness from my eyes and sit up. I yawn loudly but quiet it down when I see her.

Jade....

She's lying on her side, facing me. She has a small smile on her lips and, at that moment, everything in my life feels calm. I look over her features.

Her long black hair coming down over her beautiful face. Her nose, small and cute. Then I see her eyes.

Dark circles surround the bottom of them, showing all her restless nights. I see that one eye is slightly darker than the other. My mind drifts back to her father and I feel a frown on my lips. I look closer.

There's a few cuts across her lower left cheek. Tiny, but noticeable. I shake my head. I don't want to look anymore.

I decide to leave my comfy bed and get up to make breakfast. I make my way to the kitchen and grab all the utensils to make pancakes, a few omelets, and some bacon.

What? I'm a hungry boy.

I'm pouring the batter into the pan when I hear a sleepy voice behind me.

"Heyyyyyyyyyyyyy." She says as she stumbles into the kitchen. She sighs. "I hate mornings so much. Gahhh...." She says as she slides down the wall dramatically.

"Your stupid." I say playfully. "And your too happy for this time of day." She says with less sleepiness in her voice. "What? I like mornings. Is that a crime?" I ask. "For me, it's like robbery, rape, and murder from a shark." She says, getting up off the floor.

"That makes no sense." I say. "You make no sense." She says as she pokes my nose. "Oh my Jesus! Are those bacon pancakes?!" She asks excitedly. She practically runs over to me.

"I was making pancakes and bacon. But if you would like me to put bacon in your pancakes, I could." I say.

"YES!!!" She says like a little kid. Soon, she starts dancing around and singing.

"Makin' pancakes!! Makin' bacon pancakes!! Take some bacon and you put it in a pancake!! Bacon pancakes, that's what it's gonna make!! BACON PANCAKES!!" She sings as she dances around the kitchen.

I just chuckle and go back to the pancakes, making sure to add plenty of bacon.


*few minutes later*

I set the table and get me a glass of milk to go with my pancakes.

"You want something to drink?" I ask her as she sits down. "Yeah sure. Got any vodka?" She asks and I can't tell if she joking or not. "Umm isn't it a little early for booze?" I ask.

"It's never too early to have fun!" She says. "So do you have vodka or not?" She asks. "Nope, sorry. No getting wasted today!" I say.

"But I do have orange juice." I say and see her quickly dash for my fridge. She grabs the jug of orange juice and the biggest glass I own. She pours it in frantically and practically chugs it all down before she pours another glass.

She takes this one to the table and I look at her with my brow raised. "What? I like orange juice." She says as she sits down. "Okay.." I laugh.

"What are we doing today?" She asks as she looks at last weeks newspaper. "Um.. Well you have two more years of school left, we both need to be enrolled." I say. She sighs.

"I hate school. I wish it was later in the year! School has only been going on for three months!" She pouts and I laugh at her childish attitude.


"It's okay.. The kids here aren't anywhere close as bad as the kids at your old school." I say. "And plus, you have me now." I say, trying to brighten her mood. I can tell it worked because I see a smile creep up on her lips.

"Otay." She says in a child's voice. "Lets gooooo!" She giggles as she runs out of the dining room.

'Wow... How did I find this one?' I ask myself. I chuckle at the thought of her actually loving me back.

'Never in a million years...' I think to myself as I clean up.



°Jade's pov°

*three days later*

I was sitting at home, bored. Leo went out to get me and him enrolled a few minutes ago and I have nothing to do now.

I sigh but then immediately perk up when I think of an idea.

Lemme dye my hair!! I've had my hair black for a few months now, and it's getting old. I almost squeak from excitement as I run to get my things.

I grab all the things I need and start the pretty fucking long process of hair dying.

'Well, at least it will keep me occupied for a while.' I think to myself.

*about two hours later*

I stare at my reflection in the mirror with slight satisfaction. A feeling I haven't felt in a long time.

I get out of my regular clothes and change into an oversized Bring Me the Horizon t-shirt and some shorts.

I go to the kitchen, make some popcorn, and then plop down on the bed me and Leo share. I look through all the movie choices and I find the movie 'Juno'. I almost jump up.


I Love This Movie !

I immediately put the disk in and hit play. I sit there in silence as I watch, munchin' on my popcorn.

I hear the front door open an I immediately pop up. "Hallo???" I hear Leo ask. "Jadeeeeeeee! Whatcha doin'?" He asks as he enters the room.

"Watching a movie." I answer as if it was obvious.


Well, it kinda was.


"Ooh Juno!" He says as he gets out of his clothes and into his boxers. He slides into bed beside me and grabs some popcorn as he watches the movie with me. After a pretty long time I finally remember the reason he left.

"So did we get in?" I ask nervously.

"Well..." He sighs.
