Chapter 1

(Addie's pov)

I'm Addie I live in Pittsburgh and love it. No I'm not from here I'm actually from Texas. I came here because they have a great culinary school. I have brown hair and brown eyes. I'm so excited tonight my best friend Alex bought us tickets to the penguins game tonight!! I can't wait! I had to finish my boring culinary test and then I get to go home and get ready for the game with alex! I went and handed my test into the teacher and then was dismissed I walked to my red mustang and got in and headed to my apartment. I walked in and before I knew what was happening Alex was pulling me up stairs when I got to my room I saw my outfit laid out on my bed. I hugged her and then went and took a shower and started to get dressed. I put on my Sidney Crosby jersey. Did I mention I loved Sidney crosby!? Well I do! I then slipped on white skinny jeans and my black toms. Then I put on my gold necklace that had a moon on it and my gold bow ring. I then grabbed my clutch. Then I put my hair in a high ponytail.

I walked out to find Alex wearing her outfit for the evening. She was wearing black skinny jeans white ugg boots and her James Neal jersey she had her hair in a high ponytail. We both had on simple natural makeup. "are you ready?" I asked alex. She nodded yes and we ran and got into my red mustang. We pulled to the stadium found a parking space then we got drinks and found our seats. Alex was the best our seats were right behind the home bench. "do you like our seats?" Alex asked with a big smile. All I could do was nod I still was in shock about how amazing our seats were. The teams skated on the ice and started warming up and goofing off. Sidney skated by and our eyes connected and he smiled and winked as he turned around."oh my god! Did you see that!" I asked Alex while smacking her arm getting her to quit staring at Neal. "ya he is so into you!" Alex said. "I think that's an exaggeration." I said while rolling my eyes. As soon as I turned back around to look at the ice Sidney was looking at me smiling. '"sure it is," Alex said nudging me with her elbow. "just get back to staring at Neal he's looking at you," I said with a wink. The boys soon left the ice to get their pep talk and then start the game. The game started and I got up and cheered when Sidney and James Neal came on the ice. The national anthem was sung and then it was time for the puck to be dropped. James was on the bench and before the puck drop he looked at Alex and mouthed,"I like your shirt," then he winked and turned around. Alex almost died right then. She had her mouth hanging open. The penguins started off with the puck and I felt good about the game. I had to leave 5 minutes into the 3rd period because I had to go to work. I'm a waitress at Applebee's. I grabbed my apron changing into my work shirt and then I put on my name tag. I had waited a few tables then saw the highlights come on as the Pittsburg penguins won 3-1 against the philadelphia flyers. I was happy the highlights came on and I got a text from Alex telling me the final score and that she was headed home in a taxi thanks to me. I just laughed. Then Chloe came up to me she was a waitress that wasn't to fond of me but, was nice when the boss was around. "your next table is in the far corner. Apparently they are pretty important people so don't screw it up bitch." I just sighed and said ok. I mean she acts like a 13 year old like we are back in junior high. We are adults do we really have to act like that? I walked up to the table setting down coasters and napkins in front of all the guys. "welcome to Applebee's my name is Addie I will be your waitress today. Do y'all know what y'all want to drink or do you need a few more minutes?" I knew these guys they were part of the penguins. Sidney and James were sitting next to each other. I went around there table when I got to Sidney he said, "I'll take a beer and water. Also did you say yall?" he said with a smirk. "yes I did I'm from texas." I said smiling. They all shook their heads and then they all said things like 'that's the accent', 'oh ok', 'country chicks are so hot,' and 'we got lucky tonight' I just laughed at their comments. "I'll be right back with y'alls drinks." After I placed the drink order I grabbed my phone and texted Alex telling her I was waiting on the penguins. Alex just replied with a lot of omgs. I walked back and brought all the drink back and put them in front of the hockey players I went to get the last few drinks and got stopped by Chloe ,"here these appetizers are from those girls for those guys." I just nodded and put them on the tray with the drinks. I handed out the rest of drinks and gave them the appetizers telling them it was from those girls while pointing at the table. When I was taking the orders James Neal told me what he wanted then said,"Addie can I ask you something?" I along with all the guys looked at him confused. I just nodded my head yes then he smiled and exclaimed," will you pretty please say howdy y'all for me!" I laughed along with the guys while he kept pleading. I just nodded and told him I would say it when I brought out their entrees. I walked off and saw everyone but, Sidney get up and go talk to the girls who sent the appetizers it was obvious they were puck bunnys. "Addie could you come here," I heard Sidney say. I nodded and walked towards him. "can I get you something?" I asked with a kind smile. "no I'm just bored will you just talk to me?" he asked smiling. I blushed so I looked down. "I would but, I have other tables I have to wait on." I said with another smile. I started to walk away when I heard footsteps behind me. "are you going to follow me?" I asked smiling at Sidney. He blushed and then nodded while smiling. "Alright well come on," i said smiling.We walked up to a table with a couple who I'm going to guess are on a date. "can I get y'all desert or are y'all ready for yalls check? Also this is Sidney he is training with us today." I said looking back winking. He just smiled. They said they would get desert. "WAITRESS!!" I heard someone yell from across the room. I handed Sidney the paper and pen and told him to take their order. I ran over to the table where my name was called. "yes how can I help you sir?" I asked to the 5 teenage boys. "well 1.) you can give me your number, 2.) I could use a beer, and 3.) I could use a kiss." he said winking at me. I rolled my eyes," 1.) that not happening, 2.) you are definitely to young, 3.) again not happening. Now can I get you something else like water?" I said with a straight face. He then stood up and dumped his coke on my head and then exclaimed," well now you can get me a new coke bitch." I just sighed and grabbed the cup. Sidney walked up to me and then handed me the notepad and pen. "what happened?" he asked with a concerned tone. "nothing umm... Thanks...yalls entrees are probably ready so why don't you go and sit back down and I'll bring them to you in one second," I said with a smile. He just nodded walking off. I grabbed the jerk another coke and as I walked a way he just whistled. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the guys dinner. I came up to the table and said," howdy yall here is yalls entrees I hope you enjoy let me know if u need anything sugar," I said winking at James Neal I then set everyone's food down in front of them as I went to start walking back to the bar to get Kunitz another beer the stupid teenage boys walked up to me and made a circle around me. "so you want to give me your number now?" the one who dumped his coke on me said. "umm let me think no." I said trying to turn around and walk away when I felt someone spin me around and push me up against the bar. His body was pressed to mine. "that's no way to get a good tip babe," he said smirking. "get off me you creep!" I exclaimed. He then pushed me hard against the bar. My back hit the bar very hard and I felt the pain spread through my spine. I grabbed Kunitz beer and walked back my back still hurting. "are you ok addie?" Kunitz said as I passed him the beer. I just nodded," then why are you crying?" I hadn't even noticed I was crying. I just wiped away the tears with the back of my hand and smiled and the said in a happy tone," dont worry I'm fine. Just some guys. How's everyone's dinner tasting?" I asked still smiling. Everyone replied with fine. I walked back to the kitchen and got the desert for the couple. When I heard a voice behind me say," I believe that is for my table." I turned around to see Sidney smirking. He took the tray from me and gave the couple their deserts. I went and sat on one of the bar stools. "so are you sure your ok?" he asked concerned in his voice. "I'm fine I promised I'm use to it," I said smiling. "use to what?" he asked still looking in my eyes. "customers being rude." I said still smiling. "you should probably get back to your friends," I said looking at his friends looking at us. "do I have to?" he whined. I nodded, "oh and here is yalls check captain," I said smiling. "wait you knew this whole time? Why didn't you say anything?" I just chuckled, "because I think y'all should be treated like normal people and you don't recognize me from anywhere else?" I said smiling. He then thought about it for a second and his face lit up and then he exclaimed, "oh my god you are that pretty girl from the game that was wearing my jersey!" he said I just laughed and nodded. "can we hang out or get coffee or something," he asked smiling. "maybe you better get back and split that with your team they are about to sneak out the door," I laughed looking at the door. He ran over and then he split the check and left. I noticed we didn't exchange numbers. If it was meant to be then we would see each other again. I walked over and cleaned the table they left me a 100$ tip. Wow! I didn't want to except it because it was so much but, they where already gone. I got back to the apartment to see Alex asleep on the couch. I walked in my room and changed into a tank top and shorts and went to bed.
