Kai and Lauren- 3rd POV
"Did we lose them?" Kai bent down, grabbing his bag and tossing it to a base of the tree. "Yeah. We lost the Reapers and Orion and Cactus." Lauren huffed. Now they're just in a forest.
"I'll look for food." Kai grabbed his pocket knife, and walked towards one of the oak trees. "I can help." Lauren took a step forward, the urge to just grab Kai's face and kiss him. But he doesn't like her sadly. She kicked the grass up with her boots, obviously bored while Kai looked for food (animals).
Lauren tucked her knees to her chest, and bundled them with her arms. They shouldn't 'have escaped. This was a stupid idea. A very, very, stupid idea.
"Are we going to find them?"
"No. I mean, probably not." Kai sighed, frustrated that he couldn't find (or couldn't catch) a single animal. "Well I'm going to go sleep!" Lauren chirped happily, and went back to the base of the oak tree.
