Fading the sun's west in purple cloud-cortège
War-wings a last post to vesper with violet veil:
Peacock skies purloined, dark falls the magpie in moult.
Souls be trade: ghost-winds now betide the isle of shops
Benighted thus the white queen now a chequered pawn.
Roused now east sons reveille, cowed no more
sliver the alien clouds with a silver lightning
dawns now a saffron sky
