The song attached is 'They Don't Need To Understand' by Andy Black, as much as I love Black Veil Brides, I think I prefer Andy's solo work...
Cole and I sit in chairs located in the far right corner of the room.
Random people, most unfamiliar with who the party is even for, dance to the music playing in the background.
The party just started, guests are still arriving, and I'm already bored.
"Brinn Taylor," I hear from behind me.
I gasp as I recognize the voice that I haven't heard in years.
"Michael!" I exclaim as I stand up and turn to face my former best friend.
I give him a hug, hugs are always weird for me, I'm always too short.
"I see you haven't grown at all." He says, he always made fun of how short I am.
"It has been over three years since I've seen you and that is the first thing you say?" I ask with a laugh.
"Well, it is true." I roll my eyes at the comment.
"Yes, I'm short I know, you've told me before." I say.
"So, how is life? And what happened to your face?" He asks.
"Is it that noticeable?" I ask.
"No, but you never wear your hair down, and you are, so it must be something." He says, there was no way I was going to bother with makeup or anything else, so I just left my hair down in attempt to hide it.
"Well, I got hit in the face with something." It isn't a lie.
"Really?" He questions. "How?"
"Have you met Cole yet?" I ask motioning to Cole. I don't really want to tell him about what happened.
"What?" He asks, probably because I changed the subject so quickly.
"Well, that is Cole." I inform him as I motion to Cole sitting behind me.
"Cole, this is Michael." I tell Cole, even though I'm sure he has figured it out though.
"One more question," Michael says before asking his question. "What happened to your brother?"
"I honestly don't know," I tell him.
"He seems so different,"
"Trust me, he is, I haven't even talked to him in two weeks." Well it I true, one I was in a coma, the other I was in a different part of the country.
"Seriously?"
"Yep," I say before going over and standing next to Cole.
I can see people walk towards us, as I look closer I can identify them.

The three of us sit in a random room we found, it is weird, it is huge, and it was empty, so we took advantage of it.
"So you are her boyfriend?" Michael asks Cole.
"Well, no, not exactly." Cole responds.
"What does that mean, are-" He starts before I cut him off.
"It means he just hasn't been brave enough to ask me to be his girlfriend." I say, hoping it wasn't the wrong thing to say.
