"I - I didn't know that you worked here..." Angela says in a quiet voice.
Amy shrugged. "Yeah...I was just out on the field in South Africa for - quite a long time."
The two girls felt an awkward tension in the room. It was even more awkward when Angela hadn't even invited Amy in. "Um - you can sit if you like."
Amy shook her head, "No, thank you. I don't think this will take long."
Angela nodded, and Amy shifted about. " I came here today," she begins. "to tell you that I am very sorry of our last encounter. You see, it's been a very long time since Sheldon and I have spoken, and I had my walls up very high ever since. I have lost the only friends I had, and I became a person that - that was the opposite of the person I was before. And, I just wanted you to know that - the person you saw, was never like this."
Angela felt herself feel towards Amy, feeling sympathy for her. Of course, that is not all bad to give Amy a chance to speak, a chance to show herself to her ex's new girlfriend. Angela smiled, "It's okay, Amy. I'm actually quite relieved you came to do this. The moment you came, I thought you were going to try to intimidate me. But it seems to be the complete opposite of what I imagined."
Amy chuckled, and crossed her arms. "I'm not that bad. I used to be that way. Until I met...nevermind. Anyway, maybe we should go out for dinner sometime to discuss anything that's on our minds; like Sheldon, friends, lives, and ectetera."
"That sounds wonderful," said Angela. Before any more discussion were to continue, Sheldon walked in, his mind shutting down at the sight of Amy. Angela felt her stomach drop; she hated drama, and it was about to happen in her office.
"Hello..." Sheldon murmured, gradually walking forward, his head kept low. Amy stared at Sheldon as he refused to even look at her, and remained this way for a while until she felt an unrefined feeling in the air. She sighed in melancholy, before she was going to leave, "Well, I'll just be on my way. Thanks, Angela. Just made my day."
That remained in the air for quite some time, until Sheldon sat and pulled out his things. "What did she want?" He asked in a hushed tone.
Angela gulped as she typed, daring not to look at those hurt, blue eyes. "Uhh, she just wanted to discuss a few things regarding her behavior from the last time her and I met; and also the first time we met."
"That's all?"
"Yup," murmured Angela, the 'P' popping out. "So, it seems that we are almost finished. I just need to -"
"Wait." Sheldon interrupted. "Is that all you two discussed?"
"Of course, Sheldon. I'd never lie to you." Angela said. She can tell Sheldon was worried about the meeting, and Angela wasn't at all surprised with this. It's his ex, she understands the awkwardness and the painful memories. "As I was saying, I just need to type up our paper, and we can publish it. And we would finally be done with this. Thank, Go-" An email popped up as she was already typing the first word to their paper. She groaned at the interruption. "Excuse me, Sheldon. I got an email."
Sheldon wasn't paying any attention at all, he was just staring into space. Again, Angela is not surprised with the effect of Amy being here. As she opened the email, she almost felt her heart pop out of her chest. Human resources want to meet with her. At this minute.
Sheldon finally seemed to snap out of it at the right time, and he saw the shock in her eyes. "What is it, Angela?"
Angela cleared her throat, "I have to go. Human resources wants to meet with me."
Sheldon also seemed to feel his heart leap out of his chest. "Don't worry. I don't believe it is anything bad. Just a talk."
"Mmhmm. Just a talk."
