(Next Day, Evening)

Angela was sitting on her couch reading a book while listening to the pouring rain. She was enjoying the silence in the room, until her alarm went off signaling that it was time to go to the University for Howard's award ceremony...

She closed her book, and stood up. She was already ready, but she was frightened to drive in the rain. She sighed and grabbed her keys, and her tiny purse. She walked out of her apartment and locked her door tight.

Then, her phone began to ring, she looked at the contact to see who it was. It was her brother, Eric. Angela knew what he wanted to talk about, and she didn't want to talk about it. But it was her brother for Christ's sake, and he was very comforting when it came to situations like this. So, Angela answered.

"Angela," Eric's voice sounded through the phone. "Did you get the games?"

Angela was startled on how he just talked through the phone, and began stuttering on the cell. "Uh..um--yes...I did. They--they're coming tomorrow night."

"Oh, OK. Just checking. Oh, um, Sandy wanted me to talk to you." Eric said.

Angela began walking to the elevator, "Well, go ahead. Convince me to travel back to San Antonio."

There was silence on the other line.

"Are you going to do it? Because I would love to see you try." Said Angela.

Eric sighed, "You know I love you, right? Even when dad was just not there for us."

Angela walked inside the elevator, feeling hurt. She didn't say anything.

"Sandy and I love you so much. We care for you, and we cared for you through the hardest times. And now, dad needs love and care, because he's going through a hard time right now. It will mean a lot to him if you came for Christmas or Thanksgiving. I---"

"You're lying. Liar, liar, pants on fire!" Angela said, finally getting out of the elevator and heading towards the parking lot.

"I'm not lying, and stop being so immature. This is serious. Dad needs you. He loves---"

"You need to stop lying, Eric. Father never needed me, and father never loved me. He admitted the exact words to me. Shall I continue to list all of the hatred he had towards me?" Angela said, getting inside her Jeep and turning it on.

"I'm not going to lash out on you like Sandy did... I'm going to tell you that everything you said, was absolute bullsh*t. Dad never meant to say that to you, he was very depressed that time."

Angela began driving, and was becoming more and more angrier with Eric. "So, from hearing all of what you said, you're going on father's side instead of mine. I thought you were always on my side, not his. I trusted you!" Angela said, her hands fidgeting on the wheel.

"Who said I was on his side?" Eric said, in a calmly matter. Angela stopped at a red light, and stayed silent.

"I'll give you a few weeks to decide whether you're coming or not. But I suggest you come for Christmas...just remember that dad really needs us. Especially you. Bye, sis." With that, Eric hung up. And Angela was left with nothing, but to decide.

Angela's vision started to get blurry because of all the tears that were threatening to fall, and she began to panic when she saw the red light turn green. She pressed the gas pedal, and before she knew it, a car had hit her with full force on the side of her Jeep.

As Howard was waiting for his name to be announced on the microphone by one of his astronaut colleagues, Sheldon was completely unfocused. He carefully kept an eye on the entrance, waiting for Angela to walk in any day now. She was fifteen minutes late!

"Did you try calling her at least?" Penny asked Sheldon.

"Oh many times, Penny! Many times, and it sends me straight to voice mail." Sheldon said, checking his phone for any calls from Angela.

"Shhh!" Howard snapped, still trying to hear for his name.

"OK, OK..." Penny says, putting her hands up, then putting them down. "Well, is she always late to everything?"

"No. She is always early."

"Then, I don't know, Sheldon. Let's just watch the ceremony, then hopefully she'll turn up." Penny said, taking a sip of champagne.

Sheldon sighed and pretended to be interested in the ceremony, but once in a while, he would look at the entrance doors. Just waiting...

"Well, ever since that painful trip to space, I became a changed man. I was able to see the world in a different way now. Thanks to a man who was slightly annoying," the crowd laughed at Howard's colleague's joke. "Yet, a good friend. Howard "Fruit Loops" Wolowitz!"

Howard grinned and earned a kiss from Bernadette. He got up and jogged on stage giving his colleague a handshake. He took the microphone and could nonstop grinning, "Oh my God. Thank you all so much! It means so much to me that I got an award. First, I thought I was just gonna pass out from all the stress," Howard went on, making a speech.

Sheldon looked down at his phone, one last time. She's not coming, Sheldon thought.
