The rushing of an approaching car
A piercing shriek
I close my eyes and turn around in my friend's arms
I don't want to see it
Don't want to see her die
Don't want to see what I've done
Footsteps
Pounding on the street
A voice saying "She's dead"
She's dead
The word bounces around my skull
Dead
Dead
Dead
Dead
I'm alone
even when my friends are here
I'm alone
Alone
Alone
Alone
Alone
voices
coming in and out of focus
"Do you know what you've done!"
My friend yells
I know what I've done
Exactly what I've done
I've saved a world of people
Made life turn out right
But not mine and not hers
I've killed my true love
My only one
Downpour
It's raining
Raining in my heart
And it's all my fault
That I'll never be free
From this storm
This tempest inside of me
Eternity
I'll always be alone
Never coming home
Always torn in two
By this eternal lightning
Thinking of someone I once knew
And not a day goes by
Not a single day
But she's somehow a part of my life
And it looks like she'll stay
I'll never forget her
For the rest of my life
And as the days go by
She's a part of my life
