A/N: This is the first in a series of three poems that I wrote while I was away

As I taste the tears of today

Mountains of bitterness on my plate

I remember yesterday

Yesterday was golden, full of smiles and humor and all those other elements that make you wish it could last

Yesterday was everything that today is not

Yesterday had a beginning, middle and end:

Now we're back to the beginning

and nobody knows yet

But just because they can't feel doesn't mean that you have to forget

Let your memories grow stronger and stronger

'Till they're before your eyes

and as they flow and call to you, you will come back

There is no real need to say goodbye

So keep your best memories close to you like a second shadow

And maybe

Just maybe

You shall never know the deepest pain
