You awoke the next morning to see an owl sitting at the foot of your bed. You sat up, crawled over to it, and slowly pulled the note attached to its foot off.
You unrolled the fading parchment and it read: Dear Y/N L/N regarding yesterday's events meet me in my office at your earliest convenience. Signed McGonagall.
You sighed and put the note off to the side. You decided it would be best to eat breakfast first. You got up and put on a sweater and jeans.
It was the last day of the weekend and you were probably gonna spend it in McGonagals office, but yesterday was worth it. You walked out of your dorm with heart eyes and headed to the Great Hall.
As soon as you stepped foot in the Great Hall your eyes met Ginny's, she gestured for you to come over and you did. You sat next to her and immediately she began talking.
"So..." She said.
"So?" You said, staring into space.
"So, how was your date?" She asked. Luna leaned towards Ginny.
"Oh it was great, you can tell by how she's acting." Luna but in.
"She is a bit out of it." Neville chimed in.
"I can tell." Ginny said. You were still daydreaming and staring at nothing. Ginny snapped her fingers in front of your face, snapping you out of your daze. "Y/n how was your date?"
"Oh, it was amazing." You said.
"I knew it would be." She said. "If it was so amazing I can only imagine why you missed the train." Ginny said. (Sry not sry)
You stared at her in shock. "Ginny!" You shouted. "You do remember we're talking about your brother, right?"
"I know, I know." She smirked. "I just wanted to see the look on your face." She laughed.
Before you could respond a note fell into your lap. You looked up and saw an owl flying overhead. You looked down at the letter and slowly opened it. The note read: Y/n, this a reminder to meet me in my office. Signed McGonagall.
"Shoot." You said.
"What's it say?" Ginny asked.
"I, uh, McGonagall wants to see me, she caught me sneaking in last night." You explained.
"Ohhhhh. So you got in trouble." Ginny teased.
"Not totally, just a warning, I think."
"Y/n," Luna started. "You shouldn't keep McGonagall waiting, she's a very busy woman."
"Yeah," you nodded, "I gotta go." You stood up. "Bye guys." You waved, walking out.
Ten minutes later you had arrived at McGonagall's office, she was sitting at her desk and stared at you with impatient eye's. "Hello, Y/n. Sit down." She motioned to the chair across from her. You walked over and sat down.
"Hello, Professor." You said.
"Let's discuss your punishment for missing the train." She said.
"I'm sorry, Professor, really. Time just got away from me."
"Regardless, a punishment must be given. But... since you are new here I won't be as harsh as I normally would be. You will clean the potions classroom." She said.
"Oh... But wasn't there that explosion in there Friday?"
"Yes, someone has to clean it." McGonagall smirked.
"Right..." You sighed. " I better get to it then."
"Of course."
You walked out of the office and headed to the dungeons. It was dark and cold. You entered the potions classroom hesitantly, no one was in there so you let your guard down slightly. You noticed a bucket full of water and soap, a rag, and a sponge was conveniently placed by the explosiony mess, you grabbed them and began cleaning.
An hour later and the room was spotless, at least, to the best of your ability. You put the bucket, with the rag and sponge inside of it, in the corner. You noticed an open book by the cauldron you had just cleaned and walked over to it. The book was open to a recipe for an antidote for common poisons, the recipe calls for bezoar, mistletoe berries, and unicorn horns. Seemed easy enough. You grabbed the ingredients and started to pile them in, you then mixed them together, all seemed to be going well until it started bubbling over. You began mixing frantically, a few seconds later you pulled the spoon out and the lower half had disintegrated. Moments later the cauldron began rumbling and then it exploded. The power of the explosion sent you flying at the wall behind you. The force of your head hitting the brick wall caused you to black out.
Hey, guys! I updated (finally) Sorry this wasn't sooner, but I am a girl of many hobbies which takes up a lot of time, that added to my procrastination levels makes for a lack of writing. I'm gonna try to get the next chapter up soon, but I'm trying to work on some cosplays and I'm trying to sell homemade flower crowns, so the flower crowns are a priority.
Thanks for your patcience on me getting these up, and I promise the next few chapters will have some lovey dovey sweet shit.
(Also just a PSA public transits attract some weird people)
