Day 10

        He slowly glanced at the man beside him. He was holding a bouquet of pink and white marble roses tied in a pink ribbon on his left hand and a small box on his right. Kanina pa n’ya panaka-nakang tinitingnan ito. Halos sabay lang kasi silang dumating nito. The guy was wearing a white shirt with orange trimmings, brown pants and a baseball cap. May itsura ito. Matipuno ang katawan na halatang galing sa sikap at hindi sa gym. Pasimple n’yang tiningnan ang sarili. May hawak s’yang bouquet ng red roses. He had on a signatured white sleeveless air-painted shirt with black chaleco and black skinny jeans with silver winged Jeremy’s. Surely he was a far cry from this man beside him. Tiningnan n’ya ulit ang mukha nito. Mas pogi naman yata ako sa mokong na ‘to.

        She slowed her steps towards her dressing room. The door was slightly open and she felt a little fear. Sinara ko naman ‘to kanina bago ako umalis ah? She tiptoed and gently opened the door. She smiled. I have to get myself used to this. Dapat masanay na ‘ko sa mga pasabog mo Vice. She got excited. Hindi naman kasi nagsasabi si Vice pero parang nahahalata na n’yang nililigawan s’ya nito. Dahan-dahan n’yang nilakihan ang awang ng pinto upang mapatda sa kinatatayuan ng makitang hindi nag-iisa si Vice sa dressing room n’ya. Napalunok s’ya. Katabi yata ni Vice ang secret admirer n’ya?

        Napaangat ng ulo si Vice ng mapansin ang mahinang pag-ingit ng pinto. Dumako ang tingin n’ya sa kung sino ang pumasok. Automatically, a smile formed on his lips. Karylle was slowly walking towards where he sat. Tumayo s’ya para salubungin ito.

    “Hello, Love.” He said. “How was your day?”

    She heard him speak pero hindi n’ya naintindihan ang sinasabi nito. Nakuha ang atensyon n’ya ng lalaking tumayo kasunod ni Vice. Ngumiti ito sa kanya ng tipid.

    “Love?” untag ni Vice kay Karylle.

    “What was that a-again, L-love?” she asked. She saw Vice’s expression dim. She shook her head to get some sense into her. “Sorry.”

    “These are for you.” Sabi ni Vice sabay abot ng mga bulaklak kay Karylle.

    Karylle was about to speak pero hindi natuloy dahil nagsalita ang lalaking nasa tabi ni Vice.

    “Miss Karylle?” sabi nito. “Para po sa inyo.” Sabay abot ng flowers at box.

    She looked at his outstretched hands then she looked at Vice in the eye. He already donned his poker face. Malakas na ang tibok ng puso n’ya. Nahihinuha kasi n’yang nagseselos na naman si Vice. But she also has a say on this matter. Kung ito nga ang secret admirer n’ya, tao itong nakiharap sa kanya, tao rin n’yang haharapin ito.

    “Thank You.” She said and accepted the gifts. Narinig n’yang bumuntong-hininga si Vice pero hindi n’ya ito pinansin. She’ll deal with him later.

    “Welcome po.” Sabi ng lalaki. “Sige po, mauuna na po ako.”

    “W-wait.” She said as the guy headed for the door. “Sorry if I’ll be frank with you, pero, ikaw ba ang secret admirer ko?”
