Claire's POV
*BEEP* *BEEP*
I woke up to the sound of my alarm blaring in my ear. I almost stayed in bed until I remembered it's my 16th birthday and I will finally shift and be able to find my mate. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" says Garrett my twin brother. "Thanks you too" I reply. "No prob little sis" Garrett said. Then I say "Uhh seriously you are 20 minutes older than me I'm not that much younger than you". "Well you will always be my baby sister so get used to it" and with that he leaves.
After I go downstairs my dad greets me for breakfast then goes back to reading the newspaper. He seems more solemn today probably because his youngest children just turned 16. He tries to act happy but I know he isn't ever since our mother died from a rogue attack when I was little. I still miss her though because when she was alive.
I head out the door and think to my self today is going to be a long day...
