Rio here. I like this party that Duskie has apparently started.
It seems to me that elders in fanfictions are always grumpy, sit around, and do nothing! In one of the warrior books, an elder says something about how he hunts everyday for his denmate. And, elders do play with the kits, tell stories, etc. They're not all cranky old badgers!
(I am guilty of this too...)
In a fanfiction there's either one or two elders, or none. And if they exist, they're probably never mentioned!
Elders are fun characters to write. USE THEM :D
