"I'm going to make some more popcorn." Phoebe got up from the couch where they all sad and went into the kitchen.

They were in their second movie of the night, Juno. All of them were tired and had homework to do but decided against doing it. They all agreed, they're seniors, what's the point?

"Hey, Phoebe?" Jake couldn't get the conversation at lunch out of his mind

"Yeah, Jake?"

"Can I ask you something?" His voice was small, his heart was racing.

"You can say whatever comes to mind Jake. You know that." Phoebe smiled warmly at her best friend.

"Will you go out with me? On a date, not as friends?" His breathe hitched in his throat.

Please, please say yes, the little voice in his head spoke.

Phoebe turned to look at him, "Are you serious?" She was shocked, she thought he was joking earlier but he looked serious now.

His cheeks turned a shade of crimson as he spoke, "Yes, I've liked you for a while and you know that. Please go on a date with me, you won't have to pay for anything." Jake meant it too, he would spend all of the money he's saved to be able to go on a date Phoebe.

He's probably just doing this because he pities you. He doesn't actually like you, Phoebes little voice spoke again.

"Um..." No ones ever asked Phoebe out, she's never kissed anyone or anything.

"It's fine if you don't want to." He started to give his hopes up, asking Phoebe out was stupid.

"Yeah, I'll go out with you." She didn't know if she liked Jake but she was willing to give a man she trusted a chance.

---------

Phoebe sat on Jakes car hood waiting for him to get out of class as she always does. She gets out of class early to avoid being crowded when leaving school.

"Heard you and Jake are dating now. I always knew it would happen. Congrats, Pheebs." Harry yelled to Phoebe as he walked to his car. He was really trying to start talking to the girl he's had classes with forever.

Phoebes cheeks heated up. It's been 2 weeks since Jake asked her out and they've gone on 5 dates on the days they didn't have to work. It's been really nice, she's gotten a little happier just because of him.

"Hey baby cakes." Jakes sudden voice whispered in her ear bringing her out of her trance.

"Rude." She clutched her chest trying to steady her breathing.

"Why am I rude?"

"You just scared me."

"Awe, I'm sorry. This just gives me a reason to cuddle you later." Jakes been extremely coupley since he asked Phoebe out. They were close and acted like a couple through the whole friendship but he's been trying to make his love for Phoebe as prominent as possible.

------------

"I think I love you." Jake whispered in Phoebes ear, his chest rising and falling quickly against her back.

This is a large step...

"What?" His words surprised Phoebe.

"I know this is sudden but I feel like since we've known each other for so long, it's okay." He's loved Phoebe, almost since day one.

"I-I"

"Don't worry. You don't need to say it back yet, I know how you are, but I love you for who you are." He didn't want her to feel obliged to say it back to him, but because she is the way she is, she did.

"I love you too Jake." She smiled turning to face him.

And suddenly his demeanor changed. He wasn't sweet gentle Jake, he forced his lips onto Phoebes. Her exchange of feelings was an automatic sign for him to take their physical relationship to the next level.
