BETHAN'S P.O.V.

Madds lay on the sofa, motionless. Her eyes were closed. I thought about trying to wake her, but I wasn't sure what the hell this- this thing was. I was certain it was happening to her, too. What if waking someone up while this was happening caused damage? And why was it only happening to us; and why did it only happen once I had woken up?

I pulled my blanket from my bed and layed it on her. This was all probably some damm S.H.I.E.L.D. simulation. stupid bastards.

I sped down the stairs and down to the car, getting the spare keys from my pocket as I ran; and I drove to the

S.H.I.E.L.D base. Something wasn't right here. Did we agree to this in the terms and conditions?

When I arrived, I checked in with security. I was going to find Fury, but decided against it. Once he knew I knew, he'd probably pump up the dosage and turn us both into wasted sponges of people, just to see how much we could stand. It was then I became fuming.

How dare they.

But one thing I found rather peculiar was the fact that that world felt more real; more alive than this one.

And, I must say, I think I preferred it.

And then I began to feel sleepy again.

MADDI'S P.O.V.

"Won't the Asgardians come looking for us?" I asked Loki quietly. He sighed slightly worriedly.

"We have the Frost Giants, and the faithful Chitauri; I hope."

I looked at him, face on. We stopped walking.

His eyes were really rather sad. No sleep had come his way for a while, and it was easy to tell. Something about his face told me the innocent part of him died a long time ago, and this was just the desperate side.

A king without a throne.

We continued wandering down the wreck that was Jotunheim in silence.

Then I had a plan.

I needed to talk to Bethan.

"Loki, uncloak us."

Loki faced me and laughed.

"Not a chance."

"Loki, listen. I need to talk to Bethan. By showing them I'm not dead, they'll take me to the palace."

"Maddi. I'm in exile for your murder. I am not letting everything I sacrificed for you go to waste because you want to have a 'chat' with little miss Asgard."

"Maybe they'll reconcile?"

"They'll never let us within a mile of the Queen. We'll probably be executed upon return." Loki hissed.

"Ok. If you don't want me to go; I won't. I understand your sacrifices." I smiled wickedly.

It began to pour heavily with snow, coating my hair and clothes in white and cold.

I missed the feeling of being warm.

Loki smiled at me.

"Where are Laufey and the frost giants?" I pondered.

"We are their royalty, don't you understand? They can come whenever, and go whenever. Whatever you choose."

I still didn't understand what was happening. Maybe it was lucid dreaming.

Then it occurred to me that Bethan awoke moments before I did, screaming something about Asgard.

What made me assume that she was the Queen anyway?

Wait, didn't Loki tell me?

I looked down at my dress, and it was truly beautiful. Someone must've given the orders to give me a pretty death dress.

And I knew exactly who.
