I fell in love with your heartbeat.
Mostly because it reminds me that you're alive and you're there next to me, making my life better by the second.
But I also fell in love with the way it always beats a little quicker when you're nervous.
I fell in love with the way when I hug you, it always seem to slow down, like you're about to sleep.
I fell in love with the way I can feel it against my chest when we cuddle and how speedy it gets whenever I kiss your temples or your cheeks.
But Mitch, why does it get speedy?
"You're heart is beating insanely quick right now."
"Oh.. It does? I didn't realize".
"How can't you? Jesus Mitch, how many coffees did you even have?"
"Like two. That's not the reason it's beating so fast thought".
"Then what is it?"
"You wouldn't understand".
But oh I did.

And in that moment everything made sense.
