“Castiel!” Cas sprung up at Michael’s voice. He saw his brother standing in the door. He looked from his brother to Dean who was sitting next to him looking, frankly, scared for the both of them. Cas mentally slapped himself. In the heat of last night, he had forgotten to lock the door. Idiot.

“What is this!?” Michael hissed.

“Erm -  I- it’s not - I - what?” Cas stuttered without any avail. Quickly Cas pulled on a t-shirt.

“Listen to me carefully Castiel.” Cas instinctively grabbed Dean’s hand.

“LET GO OF HIS HAND.”

“No.” Michael was taken aback by Cas’ protest.

“You let go of his hand or I am going to break it.” Cas let go of Dean’s hand regretfully. He looked at Michael and noticed Lucifer standing behind them. Cas looked at Lucifer in a last ditch attempt at help but Lucifer just sent him a look that said, “There is nothing I can do, you should have been more careful.”

Cas looked Michael in the eyes and awaited his wrath.

“I want Dean Winchester out of this house in the next 10 minutes or I am going to break both of his legs. I never want to see him here again or I will do worse. Castiel you are not allowed to leave this room for the next week. Your brother and I did not raise you to be a fag.”

“Hold on I am not part of this.” Lucifer protested.

“What is happening?!” Everybody turned to see Gabriel standing behind them. Cas tried sending a “Get out” Signal to his younger brother but Gabriel just shook his head.

“I can hear you shouting from next door. What’s going on?”

“I found your brother, Castiel, rather cosy in bed with Dean Winchester and, as you know, such antics will not be tolerated under this roof.”

Castiel saw Gabriel’s eyes widen. Cas turned to Dean slowly as not to draw attention to himself.

“I have to go protect him.” Dean looked at Cas confused as he walked over to his younger brother and stood in front of his older brothers. There was no way he was going to let Cas face them on his own. Dean quickly slipped past Michael and Lucifer to stand next to his boyfriend.

“Gabriel, go to your room. You are not part of this.”

“Yes I am.” Cas clamped his hand over his younger brother’s mouth and whispered “Don’t” out of the corner of his mouth. Gabriel bit his brother’s hand and Cas released with a yelp.

“I have everything to do with this because whatever you do to Cas... you have to do to me too.”

Lucifer was the first to question Gabriel’s question. “What is that supposed to mean?” but Michael cut him off.

“I did not raise this family to be fags.”

Cas felt the anger rise in his heart. “You did not raise us! Are you forgetting our parents?”

“If this is how our parents raised you then I am glad they are DEAD!”

A silence took over the house.

“You did not mean that.” Cas’ voice was small and wavering from trying to hold back tears.

“I meant every word.” Michael spat back in his face.

“I am ashamed to be your brother.” Gabriel shouted in his brother’s face and ran out of the house.

“Thanks for nothing Lucifer.” Cas threw both his brothers one more disgusted look and let Dean lead him out of the house.

“C’mon Cas.”

Lucifer looked at Michael who looked somewhat guilty.

“You’ve really done it now Michael.”

“Lucifer.”

“What?”

“Am I wrong?”

“Yes.”

Lucifer quickly ran out of the house.

“Castiel?” Lucifer caught up with his little brother just as they entered Dean’s house.

“Please get away from him.” Dean growled.

“I am his brother.”

“I don’t think he sees it that way.”

“Well. Can you tell him that I accept him?”

“Ok.” Dean closed the door in Lucifer’s face.

“I should probably go to the café to see Anna.”

“Not without me.” Cas smiled as Dean put his arm around Cas’ waist.

“Fine but you’re not my bodyguard you know.”

They walked down the hill together but there was tension in the air. Cas knew all too well that anything could happen.

“Hey Jo, is Anna here?”

“And good morning to you too Castiel. Anna!”

Cas sat at the counter and after 2 minutes Anna came down the stairs yawning.

“What’s up Cassie-o?” She glanced at Dean and Cas’ hands together on the counter and her mouth opened in an “O”.

“Michael?”

“Yeah.”

“Aw Cassie.” Anna came round and gave her younger brother a hug. “I accept you no matter what Cas.” Cas smiled and nodded.

“So does Lucifer by the way.”

Cas whipped his head round to Dean.

“He told me to tell you that he accepts you too.”

“Oh ok. Thanks Dean.”

“I’m sure you can stay with us for a bit if you want. You know, we could pay you if you work in the café for a bit and get your own place once you have enough?”

Cas grinned and gave her a hug. “Thanks Jo. I can always count on you.”

Dean felt a pang. He wanted Cas to stay with him. Of course this was probably better for him but Dean still felt somewhat possessive over Cas.

“Right well I will go and inform mum if you two want to try and get some of Cas’ stuff then we can get you settled as soon as possible.”

Jo disappeared to find Ellen.

Dean gave Cas a hug. He felt Cas relax slightly at the contact and mentally slapped himself for even thinking that Cas would stop liking him.
