Time Shift (Camren)

Chapter 8: Step One

A/N: I was supposed to update this on Wednesday but I've been feeling under the weather and I totally forgot. But here's the first part of what I promised!

"Dinah!"

"Dinah!"

Normani was shaking her sleeping friend, trying to wake her up without waking up the entire bus.

It wasn't an easy task.

"Ugh, no," Dinah mumbled in her sleep.

"Dinah Jane! Wake up, come on," Normani shoved her, causing her friend to finally open her eyes.

"Normani, what the-" Dinah started to complain but Normani covered her mouth with both hands.

"Shhhhh," she whispered, " You're going to wake them up."

"What?" Dinah asked, quietly this time.

"You have to see them," Normani smiled at her, "They're so cute."

Dinah was barely processing what was happening, too sleepy to understand what her friend was saying, so Normani pulled her out her bunk with all her strength as Dinah was trying to check the time on her phone.

"Normani, you piece of crap, it's 4 in the morning," Dinah whined, "I couldn't care less about cute stuff right now."

"Believe me, you want to see this," Normani smirked.

Dinah let her Normani guide her to Ally's bunk. She was wondering what Ally had done, but then Normani crouched down and pulled her close so she would do the same.

Okay, so whatever Normani wanted to show her wasn't in Ally's bunk. It was in Camila's.

"Shushh," Normani mouthed, "Look."

Dinah was about to ask what was going on but it took her less than a second to understand everything when Normani opened the bunk curtain just enough for her to see inside.

Lauren and Camila were both sleeping in there. She couldn't see much besides Lauren's back, but it was enough for Dinah to understand what Normani wanted her to see. Camila's back was pressed right against Lauren's front, Lauren's arms hugging Camila's waist, her face buried in her hair.

Normani closed the curtain just as Dinah looked at her and mouthed, "Holy shit?!"

She pulled her friend by the arm again, this time to take her to the back lounge.

"What the hell did I just see?" Dinah asked as quietly as she could, shocked and, if she was honest, a bit excited. She turned to Normani, who was closing the door to get some privacy, "They're together? Together together?"

"They aren't together together," Normani tried to explain.

"They're not to- Mani did you see what I saw?" Dinah said, and incredulous expression on her face , "They were spooning, Mani. Spooning!"

Normani laughed quietly, amused with her friend's reaction.

"Don't laugh! Why are you laughing?" Dinah frowned but then she raised her eyebrows in realization and pointed at her, "You know something about this!" she said and when Normani just bit her lower lip, Dinah knew she knew something, "Oh my god, tell me!"

The door opened in that moment and both girls jumped, startled. They were relieved, though, when they saw the small figure in front of them.

"Why are you up?" Ally rubbed her eyes, "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
