Hi guys! Friendly reminder, this is a sequel to "Numbers of Strange" (future me forgot to update after the change, sorry, go on) so if you didn't read it I suggest you go ahead to my books and read it. It's the whole conversation that was going on between those two from the moment they met so I guess it's pretty important.
Yeah, it is pretty important.
If you already read it and continue with this one, thank you so much and I hope you don't not like me!
Enjoy
And stay street

I get out of my theraphist's office and head off to my room. Natalie and Abbie are here but there's no sign of Kinga. When I look around the hallway and the cafeteria I still can't find her so I go back to my bed with a sigh of relief.

Natalie is a lovely person. She's 18, a bit younger than me, and is planning to join the military one day. She's depressed, I don't really know why, but she's been sent here a day before me for suicide attempt. She's kind and easy to talk to, I think I could be friends with her.

Abbie is slighty different. She's energetic, caring and also really nice but when she starts talking, she can't stop for hours. It's not too irritating really, but I have to be very cautious when I want to go somewhere so that she won't feel like I just got bored. It can actually hurt her pretty badly. She cries a lot.

Kinga on the other hand... she's specific. She's Polish and we can't always understand her not only because she doesn't speak english fluently, but she also recently imagined that her tooth hurts so much she can't open her mouth properly. Nobody knows if it's true, it has something to do with her psychosomatic disorder from what I heard. I don't know much about this stuff but apparently, she can tell herself she's ill and become ill not really being ill. This is complicated. The problem is, she complains all the time about her state and doesn't talk about anything else. It can become a bit annoying after a while.

Glad that I don't have to listen about how much stress she's under, I lay in my bed and grab my phone, signalizing that I don't really want to talk to the girls. In the exact moment I feel the buzzing, letting me know I received a message.

I check my notifications and see a text from Josh. He's a really sweet guy, I wish I could meet him one day. But I guess that's not happening because he lives in Ohio, a fair distance from the Big Apple.

"Who's that? Jishy? Are you dating yet? You talk to him a lot, you know" Abbie says, disturbing my moment of thoughts.

"No, we're not. We just talk, you know, that's what people do quite often" I reply, smiling. "I have to answer him so we'll talk later, okay?"

"Sure thing, I'll let you two 'talk' alone" she says, accenting the word so I realise she knows that's not what we do. "A sweet girl like you deserves a sweet guy to treat her well. I hope you two end up together soon."

I shake my head at her as she leaves the room and let out a giggle. Then I finally check the texts from Josh.

10:28am
Hello
10:28am
We haven't talked in quite some time

Well that's something to brighten up my day. I can't help but let the huge grin creep its way onto my face. Going with his flow I quickly write a reply.

10:29am
I know I haven't been the best of anything

Why would I say that? He'll think it's depressing and start to worry again. But what could I say? I'm not his son and I don't know what he really thinks of me.

"Friend."

"I haven't been the best of friends." I should've thought of that sooner. As I keep hating on my brain, I receive another text.

10:29am
R u busy?

He didn't think that. I'm lucky today, I can feel it. I guess he's in a good mood, so that helps mine boost too.

We talk for about ten minutes when out of nowhere, he asks if I had received his package. I reminded him that I'm not home to check but apparently, he sent it over here, to the hospital. I wonder how he even knew which hospital I was in, but I go ask the nurse about it, just as he told me to.

"Oh, yes, Violet; I was just going to tell you. It's by the door, let me open it for you."

Full of surprise, I nod and text Josh back. He wouldn't tell me what it was but I guess I can wait a while longer. I sent him a message saying I'm heading off to grab it and a moment later the nurse twists the key to open the door, smiling at me.

For a moment I think I'm just dreaming and none of the things that are happening right now are true. Right in front of me stands Josh Dun, with two coffees in his hands and an envelope on top of them, with a nervous smile plastered to his face. I realize that my whole face is burning and it has probably turned just as red as his hair.

"Hello, my name's Dorkshua and I have a package for ms. Violet."
