I ran.

I didn't know where I was, the night's darkness and no moon gave nothing to me, but all I could do is run. Tears ran down my cheeks, lacing itself with sweat. I skidded to a halt, stopping at the edge of a field. Hay swayed, standing seven feet tall, a perfect place for cover.

"Aubrey!" A voice yelled behind me, Jason's.

I took off into the hay field, shedding off random clothing to throw my scent everywhere, and I shifted. Bones snapping to their new shape, black fur shot out through my skin, until I was down on all fours as a wolf. Focusing on where I was going, I could see a boulder, dark enough that I could blend in a little bit. My scent was a problem, but distinctively, something wasn't right.

"Aubrey!" Jason's voice rang out, "Come out!"

Everything went silent, I could hear wolves sniffing, their paws scuffling through the fields, but in the other direction, I could hear something, another set of feet.

I raised my head a little, sniffing the air. My jaw fell open, and I let out a howl, as the smell of gun powder over powered the hay's scent, filling my nostrils, but a hand came down on my snout hard and arms around my small body,  causing me to wince and struggle against their hold.

I looked up to find Zayden.

"Shh.. before you get us all killed, you little bitch" He whispered, lowly.

I gave in, struggling less. I noticed he wasn't wearing his shirt, revealing his six pack. My mouth began to water a little, okay, maybe a lot, but shaking it off, I focused on the main problem, as a gun shot went off.

I whimpered, trying to pull away from my mate. I wanted to run away, but he wouldn't let me budge. I looked up again at him, only to find him in his wolf form.

His fur was grey, and he was huge. Most were's are almost the size of a full grown buck, but me, I was only the size of your average wolf. His eyes glistened a gorgeous, mossy color, and his teeth were bared at me, or at least I thought.

Before I knew it, he jumped over me. I turned around to find him standing over a human, dressed in a black metallic armor, almost like a more advanced police officer. Blood pooled from his neck. Zayden turned around at me, blood dripping off his snout, he nudged at my side to get me up, and for once in my life, I felt like he actually cared about me.

I got up, running in the direction he nodded me to go. I kept my head down, but the gunshots always made me flinch, making me look up a little every time. I sniffed the air again. Now, unlike before, the air was filled with the scent of blood. Human and Werewolf blood.

I didn't notice the two bodies under foot, making me trip up. I looked around, finding no one, not even Zayden, but a gun came into view from in front of where I stood. My body trembled, I couldn't move, fear drowned me. My heart ached, but I thought for a moment. Maybe now, I'd be free of the torture my pack provided... Death might as well be my way out.

I closed my eyes, as the gun clicked.

"No!" was all I heard, before a gunshot silenced everything.
