Kill Me With Love (Karma Akabane)

XI.Goodnight

By the end of the movie..

Which was a cliffhanger..
..and the villain turned out to be the main character's sibling..

Achlys suddenly seemed bothered by the ending.
Not only Karma, but Nagisa and Koro-sensei also noticed.

When they were back in Japan...

"Thanks for the ride Koro-sensei!" Nagisa bows his head.

"Anytime, Nagisa-kun, everyone. Now, as a little exchange,
  write a report about the movie okay?" Koro-sensei smiles at them.

"How bothersome" Karma says in a joking manner.

The three of them began walking home together.
Side by side.. Achlys was the only one who was quiet.

"Did you have fun Achlys-san?" Nagisa asked her.

"It was a good experience." Achlys answers with a calm smile.

"Not fun, I guess?" Karma laughs. "Even though you were with me."
he added out of the blue with a playful expression.

"It was only fun when you held my hand, Karma." Achlys says and
Karma suddenly covers her mouth in a panic, he seems embarrassed.
However, she shows no restrain and instead, blushes while her eyes
beams with even more adoration towards him.

Nagisa's facial expression was a pokerface and pretended he didn't
hear anything. He guessed that Karma didn't want him to know about
his 'sweet' actions to Achlys.

"Well guys, this is where I take my leave. See you!" Nagisa bids them
farewell with an awkward smile.

"Take care." Achlys waves goodbye.

"Yeah bye bye" Karma waves at Nagisa.

Now that they're left alone together again...

Silence eats them up first before one of them speaks up.

Karma faced her with his casual smile, "It's pretty late.
  I should walk you home. I'm not worried about you.
  I'm worried about the people you'll cross paths with"
He jokes around and Achlys only stares at him, he walks
on and she follows him. "Where do you live now..?" Karma
asked in a low tone of voice, as if he was hesitating to ask.

"Now..?" Achlys mutters. "Didn't I tell you before?
  You are my home, Karma" Achlys repeats the same thing..
..again and again. She would always call him..

..her home.

"Enough with the cheesy lines" Karma laughs.

As they walked underneath the moon light..
They feel their bond growing stronger.
Their connection becoming deeper.

"Sometimes I worry about how I should beat someone up.
   Like, should I punch him first or kick him in the face first
   or whatever" Karma starts talking about random things that
there was never a boring moment between the two of them.

"Ah, yes. I feel your struggle. It's like cooking up a fish.
  Should I boil it or fry it..? It's a hard decision to make.."
Achlys goes along with his topics and always manages to
make him laugh or smile.

"I know, right?" Karma laughs at her response, she wore such
a serious face when she spoke to him. "You know what?" Karma
tilts his head as he looks at her and she looks back at him.

"What?" Achlys asks with a curious face.

"If someone heard everything we just talked about,
  they'll probably send us to a therapist or an asylum."
Karma says with a devilish smile.

"I don't mind being stuck in an asylum with you.
  I mean we can just be crazy together and you can
  kill me with love." Achlys responds with a normal
expression and her words made him narrow his eyes at her.

"There you go saying that again. Well.. whatever." Karma
places his hands behind the back of his head. "Anyway, I did
   say I will send you home. But you never said if we were
   going the right way." Karma says.

"My house is in the opposite direction." Achlys answers and
points it out.

Karma wears an empty smile as he stares at her.
"(I knew it)"

"But it's fine. I can walk by myself now.
   Thank you, Karma." Achlys says with a half-smile.

"Alright. Don't skip class, by the way. You dummy." Karma
sighs and then smiles back at her. He turns around and walks away.

Achlys stands there.. staring at his back until he disappeared into
the corner.

"I really wanted you to walk me home but.." Achlys looks down
as she whispers to herself.

Just when she was about to turn around and take a step forward
to go, the sudden sound of footsteps running towards her direction
stopped her from moving. She looks back and finds Karma running
back to her.

Her eyes widen in confusion. "Karma..?"

In just a few seconds.. when he was nearing her,
the world moved in slow motion.
In her mind she thinks..

"Why are you running back to me?
  Just what am I to you now?"

And within the blink of an eye..
She found herself wrapped in his arms.
Locked up in a tight embrace..
She couldn't resist.

"K-Karma..??" Achlys feels confused and frustrated,
but at the same time, can't hide her flustered face.

They are so close to each other that she can hear him breathe,
after running, he had to catch his breath..

"I forgot to say goodnight." Karma says in his usual tone of
voice.

"Just because of that..?" Achlys couldn't talk straight, her
strength is lost and her heart has gone beating wild.

"Last year was the first and the last I've been to your house.
   I should've given you even a little bit of comfort back then.
   But I didn't and I saw you weep. So here it is, a friendly hug."
Karma smiles as he holds her.. but his voice sounded a little bit
bitter when he mentioned 'friendly'.

"Karma.." Achlys could only whisper his name.. even though
she sounded like she was about to tear up and break down,
she didn't. She held on to herself and looked up to him.
She didn't mind it being a 'friendly' hug.

To her, it meant the world.

She smiles, "Thank you. Goodnight, Karma."

". . . falling
            in love
                 with you"
