Jay’s POV

The blonde girl sitting on my lap had been my entertainment for the whole night, she’d been talking to me constantly but I’d tuned her out and nodded my head at the correct times. Instead I’d been watching my mate across the room, distracted I felt my phone ringing for what seemed like the 10th time tonight, I placed my now warm beer on the table and dug my phone out of my back pocket.

“What?” I snapped irritably,

“Hello? Is that you Jay?” Anna’s voice shouted through the phone,

“Yeah, it’s me.” I sighed, hoping the conversation wouldn’t take long; it was a wonder how she didn’t see I was just using her to get to Carmen.

“Good, I was wondering if you wanted to come over to mine, to, you know!” she giggled obnoxiously,

“Sorry babe, I’m busy.” I hung up on her, my mood suddenly annoyed. I pushed the blonde off my lap that was mid-way sentence and walked into the living room where everybody was dancing. Almost instantly a brown-haired girl caught my eye, she slinked towards me and I didn’t waste any time in pulling her upstairs.

Darren’s POV

Watching Jay pull up a girl that definitely wasn’t Anna made my blood boil, my cousin didn’t deserve to be played but she was too stubborn for her own good and wouldn’t listen to Carmen. Thinking about her, my eyes flickered to Carmen across her room. She was talking animatedly to her friends from college, seeing her happy only made me want to fight harder for her, I wouldn’t let Jay take her away from me so easily. I looked away from Carmen and started listening to the guys conversation but was distracted from the conversation once again as I felt familiar arms wrap around my waist,

“Not your kind of scene?” Carmen asked with a sweet smile,

“Not really.” I ran a hand through hair and scanned the party scene once and wasn’t really impressed, I found parties like this just an excuse to get an easy lay and I didn’t need to do that; I had Carmen now. I told her that and was surprised to find her kiss me, we ended up dancing with the rest of the party-goers.

“Did you see Jay with those girls?” she sounded as distressed as I felt,

“Yeah, I did. We should probably talk to Anna again.” I sighed and let the silence settle over us. It would be hard trying to convince Anna that her so called ‘boyfriend’ was actually a two timing jerk but I loved my cousin and we had to do the right thing for her.  After a few minutes of silence Carmen pulled away to get a drink, I watched silently as she drank bottle after bottle, I stopped her after the 6th bottle when the alcohol started settling in her werewolf bloodstream.

“Are you having fun with me?” she shouted over the loud music, she twirled around and returned her arms around my neck,

“Yeah, I am!” I shouted back, I loved the drunken Carmen but I loved her normal self just as much. When she was drunk she tended to say things she wouldn’t normally say,

“You’re so hot, I can’t believe I’m getting married to you!” I laughed as she proved my point, the song changed and she squealed,

“I love this song!” I recognised the song as it came on, ‘In da Club’ by 50 Cent. Laughing and looked her in the eye, Carmen hated rap; she must’ve had more than I thought to drink.

“Are you sure? I thought you hated rap?”

“Pfft! I love it, I always listen to it.” She hit my chest gently and began rapping to the song.

Carmen’s POV

Waking up, I squinted as I felt pain pulse through my head; I turned over and buried myself into Darren’s chest,

“You can find me in the club, bottle full of bub, look mami I got the X if you into taking drugs, I'm into having sex, I ain't into making love, so come give me a hug if you into to getting rubbed.” My eyebrows furrowed, why was Darren singing a rap song? He knew I hated rap with a passion,

“Why are you singing that?” I looked up into his amusements filled eyes,

“Take a guess.” He said with a coy smile appearing on his face, my sluggish brain went through all the possible reasons. It wasn’t exactly easy to do with a wicked hangover, I wonder how much I’d drank yesterday. My eyes widened as everything fell into place,

“How much did I drink last night?”

“A lot. So much you began rapping to 50 Cent’s song.” I cringed mentally, why I had to drink so much and do something embarrassing was a mystery,

“Did anybody see?” I asked worriedly as I sat up the same time as him. Darren ignored me as he got out of bed and made his way to the bathroom,

“Darren?” I prompted,

“Maybe, maybe not.” He shrugged as he made his way into the bathroom,

“Darren!” I shouted, his chuckles were cut off as he closed the door.

“It’s not funny!” but that only seemed to make him laugh more.

I’d been trying to arrange a decent caterer for the wedding and look for a dress but it was easier said than done, just as I was about to give up the doorbell rang. I instantly knew it was Isabella, Maria and their mates- their scents gave them away.

“Hey you guys!” giving them all a hug I ushered them inside,

“Hey, we missed you! “ Isabella hugged me back,

“Darren called and said you were stressing over the wedding, so we came over to help!” Maria beamed at me, at that moment I was glad they chose to go to college about an hour away from here. I turned and smiled to a smiling Darren, mouthing a quick ‘thank you’ I turned back to my best friends,

“What are we waiting for let’s get started!” Isabella jumped excitedly.

Mystery’s POV

“We don’t want Carmen knowing about you, she’s been through too much and she’s finally happy. We don’t need you messing that up for her.” I let the words sink in before sighing,

“Leave.” I stood up and slowly walked to the door, I cast one last look at the boy before leaving. I’d find Carmen and then the truth would come out, she deserved to know.
