This story is going to be ending soon! Updates might not be frequent because I start school on Monday but I will try my best.

Enjoy!

Waking up all I could think off was, ‘did I make the right choice?’ Seeing Darren crying and apologizing yesterday night made it impossible to leave but even if I had left what would it have solved? Sighing I got out of an empty bed and made my way to the shower, the house was empty and I had no idea where Darren was.

By the time I had finished Darren had come back from wherever he had been,

“Where did you go?” I asked sitting down on the kitchen stool,

“I went to get some things for you,” Darren put down the white box he was holding in front of me,

“What is it?” Darren got out two plates, two forks and a knife,

“Open it!” Doing as Darren said I slowly lifted the top of the box up, I laughed out loud as I realized what it was. It was my favourite cake with ‘I’m sorry’ written on it,

“I really am sorry and I’m going to be spending the rest of my life trying to make it up to you.” I hugged Darren silently acknowledging that he really meant it,

“You’re forgiven, just don’t lie to me, ever.” He leant down and pecked my cheek,

“Let’s eat!” Darren began cutting the cake and dumped a slice of rich, chocolatey cake on my plate,

“But it’s too early for cake!” Darren just shrugged and continued cutting a slice for himself.

Darren’s POV

I’d nearly lost her. I’d nearly lost Carmen, seeing her crying yesterday had broken me, and it was worse because I knew I was the reason for those tears. I could never let her go everything she had said yesterday was true, I was just like Jay and I definitely didn’t deserve her but I was going to do everything to make it up to her.

“Are you ready Carmen!” she’d agreed to go out to dinner but she’d been taking ages now,

“Yeah.” I turned my head around to see Carmen standing behind me, she looked amazing,

“You look amazing.” I grabbed her hand gently and led her out.

“Do you still want to marry me?” I looked at Carmen nervously, I’d been worrying over the same question all night, what I did to Carmen was unforgivable so I’d understand if she didn’t want to,

“Of course, why wouldn’t I?” Carmen smiled at me but I couldn’t help feel that the smile was too fake,

“Carmen I-“ I didn’t have a chance to speak  because Owen interrupted me,

“Darren! How are you, I see you’re out on a date with your fiancée!?”

Carmen’s POV

I looked up to see a guy that looked a bit like Darren standing by our table,

“What do you want Owen?” Darren was glaring intense daggers at him and I couldn’t help but be mad too, this was the guy who had been blackmailing Darren,

“What did I say would happen if you missed a payment?”

“It doesn’t matter-“ I kicked Darren’s leg underneath the table halting his sentence, I ‘d come up with an idea,

“Please sit down.” I smile sweetly at him and moved next to Darren making room for Owen,

“I’m afraid your fiancé has been a very naughty boy, he hasn’t been telling you the truth.” My hand was itching to slap the coy smile off his face but I grabbed Darren’s hand instead and squeezed it,

“Please continue.” I looked at Darren and smiled a little bit,

“He obviously told you that his mate left him,” he paused and I nodded before he continued,

“Well that’s not true, he’s the one that left his mate, he rejected her just like Jay did to you.” I flinched a bit as his malicious words came out but I forced myself to keep calm, I took a sip of the drink in front of me and looked into Owen’s cold eyes,

“And?” Owen’s grin faltered a bit but he continued,

“He lied to you.” He pointed out,

“So?” I sipped my drink again and looked at Darren who looked relieved,

“I don’t know what you’ve got against Darren but I think you should drop it, he told me everything yesterday. What he did was bad but still I love him.” I smiled smugly at Owen’s face,

“You’ve obviously lost this battle so if you don’t mind.” I waved my hand dismissively and continued eating my food, eventually he got the message and stomped away from our table,

“You didn’t have to do that.” Darren had let go of my hand and slung his arm around my shoulder bringing me closer into his side, I gladly approved and moved closer,

“I wanted to, plus its better we move on from all this, the quicker the better.”

“Carmen, are you sure you’re all right with all this? Is there anything that’s bothering you?” Darren shifted slightly away from me to look at me, I looked down at my lap knowing that he was going to pick up on my weird vibes soon enough.

“It’s just a lot to take in but honestly everything else is fine.” Darren tipped my head slightly and pressed his warm lips against mine in a short kiss,

“I love you.”

“I love you too.” I returned.

I laid on my back waiting for Mike to pick up his phone, I needed to tell him that I knew about Owen and that he shouldn’t bother getting involved in something that was finished,

“Hello?” his deep alpha voice vibrated through the speaker,

“Hey, Mike. What’s up?”

“Carmen, I’ve missed hearing your voice, nothing’s going on here just usual alpha business.” I rolled my eyes at his sad attempt to flirt at me,

“Look Mike, I know everything about Owen.” I heard his sharp intake of breath and then he started talking,

“So, Darren finally told you.”

After talking to Mike and clearing things up, I called Isabella and cleared everything with her. Who knew a secret could cause this much trouble, sighing I relaxed back into my bed and closed my eyes but before I could fall asleep Darren spoke,

“Is everything all right, you’ve been acting kinda weird?” I cracked open my eyes and stared at him for a few seconds, he took a few steps and laid next to me,

“Nothing’s wrong it’s just going to take time to get back to where we were before.” Gripping his hand in mine I looked at his face. It was going to take a long time to get to where we were but I loved him and I knew we’d get through it.
