Jasmine's POV:

I woke up early and headed downstairs. I took the gifts I bought my friends and the very special gifts I made for Snape and Dumbledore. I could have given them to the house elves to place under the house trees, but I decided against it. I felt like it would be more memorable if I were to give them out myself. I took a walk around the corridors before students started trickling through them. I was pleased that there were only a few people who stayed over the Christmas holidays; I will admit, it was kinda odd though. I made my way towards the great hall and saw Ron, Hermione, Harry, Fred, Gorge, and Neville, sitting together. All of the teachers were seated as well. You could smell the Christmas feast cooking away behind the scenes. "Good morning Jasmine." Fred and George said at the same time. "Morning boys." I said with a smile. I could feel eyes on me, but I refused to look around to see who it was. "Mum sent us a gift for you." Ron said as he placed a box on the table. "Thanks. I got you all some gifts as well." I replied with a smile. I opened the green and silver striped box. There was a dark green colored knitted sweater with my initial in the middle. "This is lovely. It'll serve well on cold nights." I said as I slipped it on over my black muggle t-shirt. "I'm glad you like it, I'll have to write her and tell her." Ron said with a smile. I handed out their presents, and Neville seemed surprised to get one. "These are amazing!" Fred and George said at the same time. "Thanks Jasmine, I really like Herbology." Neville said happily. "Where did you find this? I've been looking for it everywhere." Hermione said. "Thanks Jasmine." Harry said, admiring his Quidditch gear. "Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. How did you know they're my favorite?" Ron asked curiously with a wide smile on his face. "I'm glad you all like the gifts." I said with a smile. I noticed Luna walk in and sit at the Ravenclaw table, so I got up to give her her present. "Marry Christmas, Luna." I said as I handed her a small blue box. "Thank you Jasmine, but...I don't have anything for you. I'm so sorry." She said with a sad look in her blue eyes. "It's okay, don't worry about it." I said with a smile. She opened the box and a smile spread across her face. "A Dirigible Plum bracelet! Thank you Jasmine!" She said excitedly. "You're welcome Luna." I said with a smile. I then headed up to the teacher's table where I gave Dumbledore a pair of nice socks. I asked Harry what Dumbledore would want, and he said socks. I thought it was odd, but I went with it anyway. "Thank you Jasmine. People underestimate socks, they make good presents." He said with a smile and twinkle in his eye. I then moved down to Snape, which made everyone look at me; anticipating what I was going to give him. I ended up creating Snape's gift from my ability to make my drawings come to life. I desperately hoped he would like it. "Marry Christmas, professor." I said as I handed him the green wrapped box. He was hesitant at first, but then he started opening it. When he was finished he had a seven crystal potions vials. They had silver snakes on them as well. "Jasmine....I...wow." He said with an unreadable look in his dark eyes. "Do you like them?" I asked curiously. "Like them? Of course I like them." He said with a slight smile. "Good." I said with a smile. He told me to meet him in his office latter, to which I agreed to. I was so glad he liked my gift. "I never saw Snape at a loss of words before. Well done." Fred said with a smile. "That was nice of you, giving Luna a gift." Neville spoke up. "I care about all of you guys even if we don't spend enough time together." I said as we stepped out into the courtyard. "Thanks to Snape we barely see you at all. We should go and ask him of we can have our friend back." George said, which made us laugh. "You guys know he's giving me extra lessons in potions. He's pretty strict to what I can and can't get by with when asking for a day off. I'm surprised he took me out to get your presents." I said as Fred and George started building a showman. "Trust us, we know." Ron replied. We hangout and played in the snow a little before I headed to the potions classroom. I just told them Snape wanted to give me some study plans; I didn't want them to know our meeting wasn't lesson related. I knocked on the door and waited for about a few minutes before the door opened. I was surprised, because Snape never opens the door, he always says enter or something like that. "Jasmine, come in." He said in a less formal way. I followed him into the classroom, after I closed the door behind me. "What did you want to see me for professor?" I asked him curiously. "I wanted to thank you for the lovely gift you've given me. I've never seen potion vials like these before; where did you get them?" He said as he sat at his desk. He motioned for me to sit on a spare chair beside his desk, and I did so willingly. "I made them myself. I learned how to make drawings into real life objects." I replied. "That's very impressive......and exceedingly dangerous." He said eyeing me. "I know, but I only did it because I wanted to get you something special." I said, hoping he wouldn't explode on me. We've been getting along very well over the holidays. He has even opened up a little more, which I found interesting. He told me the reason he didn't care much for Harry was because his father bullied him. Deep down I felt like there was something more to that story, but I knew not to push it; he'd tell me if he wanted to. "I'm touched that you'd want to get me something special. I figured you'd give Mcgonagall a present before even thinking of me." He said, which broke my heart. "Professor, you're an amazing teacher. I admire your intelligence, skill, and confidence. I know very little about you, but that doesn't mean I can't care for you as I care for Hermione and the others." I said sincerely. "Thanks." He said with slight confusion in his eyes. "I got you a gift as well." He said after a long moment of silence. "You didn't have to get me anything." I said. "You didn't have to get me anything neither, yet....you did." He said, which made me blush slightly. "Do you trust me?" He asked curiously. "Well...yeah. Of course I do." I said. "Close your eyes." He whispered. I hesitated at first, but did as he instructed. I felt him take my hand in his, and I was sure I was blushing profusely. His touch was surprisingly soft; I expected his hands to be rough due to all the potion making. I felt something cold and metallic slip onto my right hand ring finger. "Open you eyes." He said, and I compiled. I saw what looked like a muggle mood ring. "I have a matching one. Whatever emotion you feel my ring will turn a certain color and vise versa." He said. "So, we'll know each other's emotions?" I said in a questioning tone. "Yes. I....I want to know when you're feeling sad." He said nervously. "What for?" I asked curiously. "So I can comfort you." He said softly. "You're so sweet." I said as I basically attacked him with a hug. He stiffened slightly before he relaxed and wrapped his arms around me. "If I could arrange it, I'd love for you to sit next to me at the high table for dinner tonight. However.....I don't think that would be a good idea." He said as we pulled apart slightly. "Why? I'd love to eat dinner with you." I said. "You need to spend more time with your friends." He said as he fealty rubbed my sides. "You're my friend too, professor." I said softly, which made him smile. I wished he'd smile more often; he looks so much like an angel. "Please, call me Severus." He said sweetly. "You're my friend too, Severus." I said with a smile. He then did something that took me by surprise. I think it even shocked him as well. He kissed my forehead lovingly, which made me blush. "I...I think you should go and find your Gryffindor friends. I'm sure they're worried about you. Being here with the dungeon bat of Hogwarts." He said. My heart broke so much when he said that. "Don't say that, Severus. You're not some dungeon bat, you're my dungeon bat." I said, which made him laugh. "You're joking right?" He asked. "Yes. Don't you ever call yourself that horrible name." I said as I lightly punched his arm. "Okay, I won't. I promise." He said as he hugged me. After a little while I went to the library where I met up with Hermione, Ron, and Harry. "What did he have you do? You've been gone for an hour." Ron said. "We just talked about my lessons." I replied. I hoped none of them noticed the ring, but I could always lie if they'd ask me about it. It was kinda hard to processes how close he and I got in the expanse of an hour, but I wasn't complaining. I just hoped it lead to more and frequent hugs; he gives the best hugs.
