Dolan Filled Summer [ E.D ]

Mint Gum

          The ride was pretty short, considering the fact that time passes by faster when you're having fun. I chew on my mint gum as I watch the sunset and laugh along with Ethan.

          "We're here" Ethan exclaims as we pull into a lane of cars. My eyes wander towards the sign that stated movies and the times they were playing. I look around to see huge plain white boards around the forest. We were at a drive-in movie theater.

          I remember going to drive-in movie theaters as a kid. My family and I would take the van and park in reverse. We would open the trunk while we sat in the trunk of the car, huddled up watching comedy movies. They were mostly popular in the 1990's.

          "A drive-in movie theater, where did you get this idea from?", I ask with a smile on my face as we pull up to the stand that was selling the tickets of admission to watch a movie. "It's um, kinda cliche, but romantic" Ethan replies as his cheeks turn a light shade of pink.

          "Two adults?" The lady in the standing asks Ethan as he nods in response. "That will be twenty-six dollars," She says as she prints out the admission tickets. Ethan pulls out his wallet out of his pocket and takes out two twenty dollar bills to give to the lady in the stand. The lady takes the cash and hands Ethan the tickets while she counts his change. The lady gives Ethan exactly fourteen dollars back in change.

          "Thanks, Ethan," I say as I smile at him, "Anytime," He says as he turns his gaze towards me and smiles. Ethan starts to drive again and parks in a spot in front of the big white board, a close enough distance to watch the movie.

          "We have a couple minutes before the movie starts, do you wanna go get some snacks?" He asks as he points his thumb behind us towards the concession building not too far from us. "Sure," I respond as we both exit his black jeep and close the doors.

          I start to walk towards the concession building as Ethan walks around his vehicle towards me. We continue to walk towards the break structure side by side.

           I feel his body closer to mine and his hand edges slightly towards mine. I feel the tips of his fingers gently glide across my palm and wrap themselves in between each of my fingers. His palm felt soft and warm.

           I turn my head and look up at him as we smile at each other. We both swing our hands back and forth as we start to approach the small building.

          Ethan wraps his hand around the handle of the door and pulls it open, holding the door for me. "Thank you," I say as smirk plasters along my face, and I walk into the building. "No problem," he says as he walks into the building and follows behind me into the line for food.

           The line was extremely short, there were about 2 people in line. As we join the line two other people join behind us in the line. More cashiers start to help other customers, making the process of ordering the food faster.

           I read the menu that is hanging across the wall notifying what the concession building had to offer customers.

          "What do you wanna get," Ethan asks me while I feel his hand slide down my spin as he hand stops at the small of my back. "Um, I don't know just something simple. Maybe popcorn?" I say as my head turns to look at Ethan as his eyes are concentrated at the menu.

          "Do you wanna share a large popcorn?" He asks as his gaze changes from the board full of meals towards me. "Sure," I respond as I smile at him, while the teenage guy at the cash registers gestures for us to come forward and order.

          "Hi! What can I get ya today?" The guy asks enthusiastically as I could feel him staring at me, making me uncomfortable. The guys behind the counter had dirty blonde locks and sparkling blue eyes, he was attractive, but he couldn't top Ethan. He continues to stare at me flirtatiously as I look away from him."Can I get a large popcorn and two regular drinks," Ethan states as he removes his wallet from his back pocket to pay for the meal.

          I gently put his hand down that was holding the wallet, "You paid for the movie, how about food on me?" I say hoping he'll let me pay. The guy starts to prepare the bag for the popcorn and the drinks. "Rachel it's fine, I promise," He says reassuringly as he strokes my arm, "Are you sure?" I ask feeling bad, "Positive," He states with a smile plastered on his face as he pulls cash out of his wallet to pay for the food and drinks.

           "What drink would you like?" The guy behind the counter asks Ethan. He looks through the options, "Can I have sprite please?" Ethan asks. "For sure, and for the pretty lady?" the guy asks as I start to feel uncomfortable. Through the corner of my eye, I can see Ethan tense up a bit, as he hand moves along the side of my back to my waist, and I feel his grip on my waist tighten.

          "Iced tea please," I say not making eye contact with the cashier as he starts to back off a little, knowing I'm with someone and not interested in him. I turn my gaze towards Ethan to see his eyes locked on the cashier and his jaw clenched, I start to chew on my mint gum more intensely from the uncomfortable situation.

          The cashier starts to fill up our drinks as I turn my body towards Ethan. His hand glides my spine as he hand stops at the small of my back. He swiftly turns his body towards mine and smashes his lips onto mine, as his lips closed around mine slowly. He pushes his hand deeper into the small of my back making my body press against his.

           I'm shocked by his sudden act of PDA, it was to make the teenage guy behind the counter stop eyeing me. My eyes gently close as I wrap my arms around his neck tugging gently on his hair. I could feel his tongue glide along my parted lips asking for entrance, but I don't give in that easily I say in my head as I smirk into the kiss.

          Ethan began to lightly bite on my bottom lip, as I slowly parted my top and bottom row of teeth from the sensation as he swiftly slides his tongue into my mouth. Smooth.

          Ethan quickly removes his lips from mine as the cashier places the popcorn and our drinks on the table clearly agitated.

           "Thanks," Ethan says to the cashier with a smirk plastered on his face as he picks up the popcorn and his drink. I pick up my drink and thank the cashier, Ethan starts to walk away as I follow him, until he turns around.

          "Do you want your gum back?" Ethan asks as he smirks and places the gum in between his teeth showing me. I start to blush uncontrollably as he winks at me. I could feel the cashier's eyes burning in my back noticing what Ethan just said.

"Mine" Ethan mouths to the cashier.
