It had now been exactly a week since you first arrived at The Glade, just as confused and upset as everyone else was when they first arrived.

You never thought it was possible, but you were slowly beginning to become more accepting of your situation and the fact that you had been put into The Glade for a special reason.

Being the only girl here in The Glade, it was impossible not to bring any attention towards yourself. What do you expect? It was difficult, you felt alone, but at the same time, you felt special.

Within the seemingly short week that you had been in The Glade for, you had already managed to spark the interest of many boys, one in particular, being Newt.

You had to admit, he was cute, and constantly sweet to you. You couldn't help but feel as though you had to prove to him and everyone else that you weren't just going to fall for one boy as soon as you arrived.

I mean, I'm pretty sure I have bigger problems to worry about at the moment.

It's as though he read your thoughts, you watched as Newt approached you with a smile on his face.

"What's up, Greenie?" He spoke with his adorable accent, you couldn't help but smile to yourself at the fact that he wanted to be around you so often.

"Not much, Newtie, just talking to a boy who can't leave me alone for more than five minutes," you chuckled as Newt smiled.

"Newtie? Cute." He smiled, adverting his eyes to the ground, "and It's not my fault that an insanely beautiful girl just happened to turn up outta' nowhere, kinda a bit distracting" he chuckled. "Don't blame me though, I'm not the only one who has my eye on ya," Newt added.

"Seems as though you've got some competition then, eh?" You sarcastically stated.

Newt half-smiled in response.

"Hey, Newt, don't worry, you're by far one of the nicest guys here. All of the others are just strict and no fun, at least you manage to entertain me with your witty little jokes,"

"Hey hey, I'm funny, you gotta admit," he defended.

"You keep telling yourself that." You joked, patting his shoulder and walking away as you heard him chuckle.

You were helping out a few of the boys by chopping up some wood for a bonfire that was taking place tonight. It was one of your suggestions, you felt as though The Glade needed some more cheer and happiness in the air, and a bonfire was a perfect idea.

The Runners were going to be back soon too, which was perfect, considering you could definitely tell that they needed a break at least once.

As you were setting up the bonfire, you saw Newt approaching you once again, immediately smiling as you met his gaze

"A bonfire? Nice." Newt smiled, helping you out by handing you a few pieces of wood. "This place is so bloody dreadful and sad most the time, it's a good idea," he added.

"Thanks, I thought so too," you smiled, excited about what awaited with tonight's events.

"Hey, Y/N can I-"

"Greenie? Can I talk to ya for a sec?" You heard Alby yell from a distance, cutting Newt off.

"Sure, just a sec!" You replied, "Sorry, Newt, can it wait a few minutes? I hate when Alby gets pissed off,"

"Oh-uh, yeah, sure," he replied.

"Thanks," you smiled, feeling bad for interrupting him, but you knew what Alby's temper was like.

Approaching Alby, you were relieved to see that he wasn't in a bad mood,

Phew.

"Hey, what's up?" You asked.

"Runners are back, I was just gonna let ya know that you can start the fire now," he smiled. Wait, smiled? This bonfire was beginning to turn into more of a miracle than anything.

"Awesome, this is gonna be so much fun," you smiled, walking over to the bonfire.

Everyone, to your delight, was having so much fun. You couldn't help but feel so overwhelmed that this was the first time you had seen any besides yourself or Newt laughing. The chatter was so positive and amusing, it almost seemed as though everyone had forgotten what kind of world you all actually lived in.

Quickly being dismissed by your thoughts, you spotted Newt sitting over on one of the logs, waiting for you to arrive. When he saw you, his face immediately lit up with a smile, as did yours.

"How are you liking the bonfire so far?" You asked, sitting down on one of the logs next to Newt.

"It's a real nice change, bloody well wished you had come here sooner," he smiled as you chuckled in response.

"I'm so glad it turned out well," you sighed, resting your head on Newt's shoulder, feeling him deeply exhale.

"Hey, Y/N, about what I was saying before," he started, almost unsure on what to say next.

"Yeah?" You questioned, looking up to meet his gaze.

"Ah-shuck it," Newt quickly said before he leaned into you, placing a small, yet sweet kiss square on your lips.

He moved his head back, looking into your eyes as he let the pang of guilt and embarrassment hit him all at once.

"Oh no, Y/N I'm-"

You shut him up quickly by pulling his face closer to yours, instantly reattaching your lips. You felt Newt begin to take you into your own alternate universe, one where no such pain existed, only pure lust and love.

Your lips, moulded together perfectly, as though they had been specifically designed for one-another. You tugged on the strands of hair at the bottom of Newt's neck playfully as the two of you continued to deepen the kiss.

You felt as Newt's tongue swiped along your bottom lip, as though asking for permission, you immediately granted it, making the kiss seem all the more intense.

As the two of you began to pull away, you looked around and noticed that not once single person had even seen what the two of you had just been doing. Looking back to Newt with a smile of your face, you watched him smile back, laughing also.

"Bloody hell, you have no idea how long I've waited to do that for."
