*ahem*

all the light bulbs, burst!

(ooh's and ahh's at the
shimmering sea
of liquid glass;
the clinking song
of fragile things.)

spotlights,
now's the time
to supernova,
swallow all the stage!

(an air strike
roaring on command)

floorboards,
fall and tumble

curtains,
tear your seams to
bleeding shreds!

(croaking cellulose,
lacerated velvet,
all the sandbags
fall at once,

don't worry -- we're almost there)

lights, camera, action,
you're all gone,
hit the road and scram!

roses thrown upon the stage,
love-letters, syringes, nails,
and undergarments;
the muscles and the
ligament; discarded
like the
final days of summer.

...

curtain call,
ladies and gents!
it sure has been a while ride,
but the show can't always go on!

we've got razor-sharp smiles,
and art-deco nooses
back behind the curtains,
so there ain't gonna be
another encore!

here's to all you crazy
clapping hands!

the end.
