Daylight

The warmth sinks in,

from the tops of my toes to my chin.

The sun bursts forth,

 it lightens the earth.

Making the birds awaken,

another day to be taken.

Daylight baths the world in gold,

the warmth is uncontrolled.

Making the earth stronger,

I wish it would stay longer.

Night creeps up boldly,

 the daylight sinks down, slowly.

Golden rays mixing with dark hues,

it stains the sky with richness and blues.

I watch as the daylight disappears.

This is why I'm thankful for all these years.
