Survivors

When you feel as if you only have half of a heart.

Like you keep getting knocked down and pushed back to the start.

You're tired, you're weak, you feel as if you have reached your peak.

When in all fairness you've only gone a few feet.

Every breath is a mile, and every tear track is a failed smile.

You aren't alone, there are others who feel as if they have nowhere to go.

Just like the arrow is pulled back by the bow;

you have so much more to do, to know, so much more to learn and to grow.

Every day you may be pushed back, but even so, you're here, your fighting, surviving.

This life is worth everything, so keep on fighting.

Every day, every hour, every minute, every second, is worth the blood, sweat, and tears.

Just to be able to keep surviving these years.

We are survivors, here to stay, to live out loud, and fight every day.

We are tired, we are scared, but you won't silence our say.

Pushed back for far too long, now you will listen to our song.

Apart we are only half a heart, but together we are more than the most famous artists.

Try as you might shackle us back, we are survivors who aren't going back to the start.
