I wasn't even supposed to be at this party, I had to train tonight but the boys dragged me saying I needed the night off.

"I'm going to go and grab a drink then we'll meet around the back like normal then, yeah?" Elija shouted over the music, we nodded and split going in separate directions.

I headed over towards the kitchen to grab a glass of water. The first thing I noticed was Brontë, she was just stood by herself watching the drunk dancers while she sipped away at her drink.

Her eyes trailed around the room until they landed on mine, meeting my gaze.
She smiled, "hello cabin boy" she laughed at her own little nickname she had given me.

I smirked at the fact she probably didn't know completely what she was saying.
"You know I haven't seen your face properly yet, let alone I don't even know what your name is," she said walking towards me.

She placed her hand on my hood, slowly pulling it from my head.
I don't know why I was letting her do this, I hate it when people try and make me open up and show myself, but with her, I seemed not to care. It felt as though I just couldn't stop her.

As the hood finally dropped down she scanned my features slowly placing her small hand on my cheek, her hand then moved to the tattoos gliding up my neck as she started to trace over them.

"I love them." is all she said as she stared in awe. She looked back up to my eyes again. "Why do you hide them?" she asked in almost a whisper as if she didn't want to overstep asking too many questions.

I shrugged, "People judge me before they talk to me, the tattoos tend to scare them off I guess," I say staring back at her.

"Well then, those people aren't worth your time.." she moved her hand from my cheek and back down to her side looking down now, embarrassed by how forward she was being. "I'm sorry I think the alcohol's getting to me, I'm not really usually that forward" she laughed still looking down.

I lifted her chin up so she was looking at me directly in the eyes. "I don't mind" I spoke softly to her, her facial expression changed and her body relaxed, I smiled, which she then returned.

"Are you here on your own?" I asked slightly worried. She shook her head and told me she was with her friends but they had gone off to do their thing. I nodded in response and then realised I was meant to meet the boys around the back about half an hour ago already. I didn't want to leave her on her own so I took her hand and gave her a reassuring look, letting her know she can trust me. She didn't object and let me lead her to the back to where the boys were waiting.

"What too-" Kai stopped mid-sentence after seeing Brontë come from behind me, still holding on to her hand.
The boys looked at us both, sort of in shock. I dropped her hand glancing at her for a split second before turning my attention back to the boys.

"And who might you be?" Nate asks Brontë, grinning.

"Hi, sorry to butt in on anything, I'm Kendal, I'm new at Tatern high" I was surprised at how confident she seemed, not too confident to be cocky but the girl had a personality I could tell.
The boys waved and welcomed her to sit with them. Some part of me was jealous of the fact I didn't want any of them near her but another part was confused about what the hell was going through my brain.

What made this girl so damn special that I couldn't resist opening up to her, I mean I only met her a week ago.

As she talked with the lads I just couldn't help but stare, she was so different from any girl I've met before, not to mention how amazing she looked tonight. Her dress hugged every inch of her body curving in at her waist and gripping to her thighs perfectly. Her hair was in a messy ponytail with strands of her hair, dropping down both sides of her face.
She looked up and caught my gaze smiling, I smiled back dropping my gaze so I didn't look too much like a creep staring constantly.

"There you are Brontë!" a girl with purple hair, comes round the corner toppling over a little as she makes her way over towards Brontë.

Brontë looked up and quickly ran over to her friend holding her upright, she excused the both of them saying it was best they left.

Before they left she turned to me "Thank you for tonight..." she said but pausing as she still didn't know my name, "Hunter" I say watching her, she smiled "see you around Hunter" she smiled and I couldn't help but smile back.

Once they had left Ray spoke up, "You must really like that girl H" he said as he gulped down his drink.

"What makes you think that?" I say back a little frustrated from the shit they were probably going to give me.

He smirked, lowering his drink down to his side, whilst dropping his head, "Your hoods down" is all he said.

I had completely forgotten I hadn't put my hood back up since being in the kitchen with Brontë.
The boys stared at me smirking as they all knew what Ray was saying was true. I just couldn't wrap my head around it.

I've got this feeling, she's different. A good different.
