Chapter 6 - enemies

I sat there biting my lip, the battle rounds were next week, I just found out we had to battle with two other people in team Mel B, oh god. All of team Mel B were sat crossed leg in front of Mel B listening to her,
"Unfortunately all of you have to go through the battle rounds, and out of 3 I can only choose one of you to go through so I have my top 3 contestants" she said sadly,
"For now enjoy your time and let's get to the vocal training" she said giving a small smile.
"I really hope I'm not battling you" I whispered to Madisyn,
"Me too, we'll see" she whispered back,I grabbed my guitar and started to practise some chords, I closed my eyes and blocked all the chatter, by the end of next week, only 2 of us would be here.

"So what do you think about the battle rounds?" Chris asked me during lunch break,
"Cruel, making friends battle each other" I said slightly angry,
"Hey at least we're not battling each other" he said
"Yeah I'm glad too" I said giving a weak smile.
"Do you know what your singing?" I asked,
"Yeah, wake me up" he said,
"Lucky I'm singing stitches" I said sighing,
"Who you battling?" Chris asked,
"This little boy called Jai and a girl the same age as me called Amy" I said,
"Are you friends with any of them?" He asked
"Yeah Jai he's a cutie" I said sadly,
"Am I cutie?" Chris said smirking,
"No" I said laughing,
"You kidding me?" He said smirking, I was too distracted laughing that I didn't notice Amy walking over to the lunch table me and Chris were sitting at,
"Hello I hope I'm not ruining you two lovebirds" I felt my cheeks burn,
"Anyways can't wait to battle you and win!" She said giving a evil laugh, I felt Chris's hand creep towards mine and I felt his fingers intwine with mine, Amy gave a stare then smiled,
"Anyways I got to go, so toodles" she gave a wave and winked at Chris, I rolled my eyes.
"She seems annoying" Chris said laughing, I felt like I was going to puke, Amy was surely going to beat me she had a amazing voice I heard her sing in rehearsals,
"Leia?" He said softly, I let go of Chris's hand and dashed towards the nearest bathroom and locked myself in one of the stalls and was sick in the toilet.
"Leia!" I heard Chris call my name outside the girls bathroom, I sat on the floor and buried my face in my hands,  oh god Leia do you seriously have to muck up now? I heard the girls bathroom door open,
"Leia?" A voice said, I instantly knew it was Mel B,
"Yeah" I managed to croak out,
"Chris told me you were sick or something you ok?" She asked,
"No" I said tears streaming down my face,
"Come out and I'll take you to the nurse" she said coaxing me out of the toilet stall, I unlocked the door and Mel B embraced me in a hug,
"Poor you what happened" she said, I shook my head not wanting to talk,
"Never mind lets get you to the nurse" she put her arm around me and guided me out of the girls bathroom, as soon as I stepped out everyone was staring, the first person I noticed was Chris with a worried expression, then I noticed Amy with a smug expression on her face, I bowed my head down so that I looked at the floor and Mel B guided me to the nurse.

I was laying in what seemed like mountains of blankets, yes the nurse sent me home. I didn't even say bye to Chris, he hasn't texted me so I'm assuming me and him aren't that close of friends then I thought we were. I laid in my bed watching Netflix on my laptop, I looked out the window it was pouring with rain. I was home alone, my mom and dad were at work and teddy was at school. I was in my pyjamas a simple gray shirt and red sweatpants, I heard the door bell ring and walked downstairs I opened the door and standing there was Chris wearing a sweatshirt with a black hoodie over his head and soaking wet,
"Chris?!" He looked up beneath his hoodie and smiled,
"You feeling ok?" I ran up to him and he embraced me in a hug, I didn't care if he was soaking wet I just wanted him. I felt his arms wrap around me and I laid my head on his chest.
"Hey, hey I came here after they let us out to see if you were ok" he said mumbling still holding me. I didn't say anything I stood there still clinging onto him before I snapped out of my daydream,
"Oh right do come in then" I said detaching myself from him, he chuckled softly I grabbed his umbrella and shoved it in the bathroom to dry,
"Take a seat" I said gesturing to the sofa,
"Thanks" he said smiling, I ran to get some water but in the corner of my eye I saw him take off his sweatshirt, underneath he was wearing a tight white t shirt, I tried not to stare. I grabbed a towel and sat down next to him on the couch.
"Here dry yourself up" I said passing him the towel,
"Thanks" he smiled and took the towel,
"So what happened when I left?" I asked,
"Well Mel B told everyone you were sick and that you got sent home and I was pretty worried cause I didn't what happened with you so I cycled to your house to check on you" he said smiling,
"Oh um, Amy kinda got me nervous for the battle rounds saying she would win and stuff and I didn't know what came to me" I said shrugging, I grabbed the blanket in the corner and snuggled in it.
"Your going to make her pay for it" Chris said scooting closer to me,
"What if I don't win the battle round?" I said leaning on his shoulder
"You will" he whispered, I pulled the blanket over myself and Chris. I didn't realise how tired I was until my eyelids covered my eyes.
