Part 37 - Goodbyes hurt

I couldn't believe it, Chris promised me he'd wait for me, where is he? It's been 15 minutes after the show and he still hasn't shown up.
"Mom, I can't see Chris or Ingrid" I said still looking around,
"Leia honey, it's late we should get home" my mom said putting a hand on my shoulder,
"No I have to find Chris" I said pushing her hand away, I spotted Ethan and he gave me a worried look,
"Mom where is he?" I said,
"He's probably gone home Leia" my mom said putting a hand on my back,
"But he wouldn't leave me" I stammered,
"Leia Please we need to get home it's urgent" my mom said nudging me towards the car, she finally forced me into the car and I put my seatbelt on.
"Mom where is Chris?!" I shouted,
"Honey please calm down, he's gone home, he's not feeling well" my mom said focusing on driving while my brother started to annoy me, as soon as I got home there were boxes everywhere,
"What the hell is this?!" I snapped,
"Leia sit down" my mom instructed,
"No you tell me everything" I said my voice poisoned with anger,
"I'll say it all at once, I should have told you before, after your first audition a music company called and said they wanted you to go to Melbourne" my mom said, she paused and sighed,
"I was going to tell you but I thought it be better of not or else you would have refuse to go, you would have refuse to leave Mila, Cassie even Chris" my mom said quietly, I gulped,
"How do you know about me and Chris?" I asked, my mom chuckled,
"I can see the way you two look at each other, plus Ingrid told me" my mom said,
"So this is it? I'm never going to see Mila or Cassie or Chris again!?" I yelled,
"Leia you can't say no to am opportunity like this not many kids get signed to a music company at 14!" My mom exclaimed,
"I'm sorry it has to end this way" my mom whispered,
"What did you tell Chris?" I said through gritted teeth,
"What do you mean? I -"
"I know you said something to him don't lie!" I shouted, my mom looked at me her eyes shocked that I shouted at her,
"I told Ingrid to tell him beforehand, I guess he was upset so he left early...." My mom said as she looked down at the floor,
"How could you? Keep this from me? Tell Chris and now I'll never see him again? And to keep a secret from me, a huge one! Why didn't you tell me? Maybe I would have a chance to say good-bye!" I shouted, tears started to roll down my cheeks my mom looked shocked,
"Why didn't you discuss such an important decision with me? We're moving to a completely different state! I've been having one of the best weeks of my life and it's ruined by this dumb decision that you've made to move the whole family to Melbourne?!" I sobbed,
"I know your a teenager, I know you can make your own decisions, but one day your going to realise I did this for you, your going to realise this was worth it" my mom said,
"Get away from me" I said tears pouring down my face, I ran up to my room, but it wasn't my own room it was filled with boxes. I changed into some clothes left out for me, and went to bed.
It's been a while since I've cried myself to sleep.

I looked around my room, I put on my hoodie and sighed, everything was empty, I only had my suitcase with me I hauled it down the stairs. I avoided eye contact with my mom and instead walked out the door to the car.
"Are you ok Leia?" My brother asked,
"Yeah I guess" I mumbled, I already said bye to Cassie and Mila this morning on the phone. I looked out the window and said goodbye one last time to my house. We all sat in silence in the car as we drove to the airport. I looked down at my phone,
Dear Chris,
I really don't know what to say, I should have known earlier, maybe one day I'll see you again no guarantees. But right now I'm too shocked yet heartbroken to say anything but I love you Chris that's all I can say for now. Bye.

I paused for a moment as my finger hovered over the send button, I let out a shaky breath and pressed the back button.
I couldn't do it, the best thing is to leave him. I closed my eyes and leaned my head on the window as we proceeded to the airport.

I looked at the airport one more time as we got ready to board, so far no sign of Chris. I pulled my luggage along with me and proceeded to board the airplane. I sat down and looked out the window, time for a new beginning a new life.
"Goodbye Sydney, Goodbye Chris" I whispered.

Chris' POV
How could she have not told me? My hands were sweating as I ran through the carpark straight towards the airport building. I pushed my way through the crowd and ran to where the check - ins were.
"Where's the flight to Melbourne?" I asked quickly,
"Taking off" the flight attendant said, I wasted no time sprinting towards the huge window where all the airplanes were ready to take off. I shoved past all the people standing there and put my hand on the window. There she was sitting at the window, her brown hair weaving down her shoulders, her dark brown eyes staring at the window, headphones on,
"LEIA!" I shouted, I knew she couldn't hear me but I shouted at the top of my lungs anyways.
The plane engine came alive and it started to go forwards,
"LEIA!" I shouted, it was no use the plane started to move forwards further and further away, I sat down on a chair and buried my face in my hands.
I had to find a way to see her again, I could never leave her even if I wanted to.
