•Truthfully, Dan had never felt so much positivity and pride radiating in one room. From the moment he showed up he could feel the vibes coming from everyone. It had been so long since he'd seen almost half the people here, and having a room full of said people was truly amazing.
Phil was just plain happy. Pure happiness was what was going through his veins. The smiles on everyone's faces as he made the rounds with Dan were enough to keep him in a good mood for months.
Everyone had showed up close to an hour and a bit ago, and Dan and Phil had just finished thanking everyone for coming as one is socially inclined to do at the beginning of a party.
"I've gotta say, it was pretty cool seeing you two on that massive stage." Carrie smiled, starting conversation with Dan as Nikki and Sammy, who had just finished talking to Dan prior, met Phil's eyes from across the dance floor and left to converse elsewhere. Dan and Phil had just split up, wanting to chat with as many people as possible.
"It's a crazy feeling. Like, this could have never happened, but it did." Dan replies, taking a sip of his drink, the one named after himself mind you.
"I'm just so happy for you two." Carrie smiles. "How long have you two been friends?" she asks. She knew it'd been a long time, she just didn't know to what extent. Dan didn't even have to reflect to remember the years that had passed.
"6 years." He says with a nod, not able to fight off the smile. He was so grateful for the way his life had turned.
Carrie smiled and opened her mouth to reply when the music switched from dance-y to a slow song, causing her attention to fall off course immediately. Of course it was Thinking Out Loud.
Carrie shoved Dan's shoulder with a smile, his gaze falling on her and noticing the look she had behind her eyes. Dan had just shot her a questioning look when he felt someone's hands brace themselves on his back, hearing an all too familiar giggle accompany it. He turned to see Louise and Peej, both pushing Phil towards him, which had caused Phil to stop himself on Dan's shoulder blades.
"Oh for God's sake." Dan laughed warmly, smiling. He was in too good of a mood tonight. "You guys." Phil was still laughing from almost crashing into Dan. By now, a few more people had tuned in.
"Come on you two. Dance!" Louise said, nudging Dan in the side repeatedly. "This is a huge deal. You can't not be sappy about it."
Dan simply rolled his eyes, while Phil laughed.
"For god's sake Lou-" He said warmly, more hesitant than against it.
"Honestly. You two are a piece of work." Carrie shook her head, smiling. She then gestured towards the dance floor where Felix and Marzia were, accompanied by a few other dancing. "You wouldn't be alone."
Phil looked at Dan to gauge his reaction, though he could easily tell by his tone of voice that a little persuading would get him to agree. He wasn't against it himself, but he'd only be comfortable if Dan was.
"6 years. That's 6 years of not getting tired of each other. You made a book, did an entire tour and you've made so many people's lives so much better." Louise started, looking at the two of them. "You've made lives better, and you didn't spend months skyping each other back in '09 for nothing. Get your asses out there."
