"Glad to see you back today."
"Why would I miss?"

Ethan smiled, but it wasn't genuine.

"Are you... Are you okay?"
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"No you're not. Walk to the gate with me, then we can talk."
"I'm fine, but okay."

Ethan and Travis met at the gate, and Travis opened it using a key card.

"What's up?"
"..."
"..."
"I can't come around very often anymore."
"Why?"

Ethan shuffled his feet.

"Tutor. I'm failing high school, remember?"

Travis blinked twice and took Ethan by the hand. He lead him to the love seat behind the counter.

"What are you—"
"Sit down."
"Okay?"

Ethan sat down awkwardly. Travis sat down next to him on and patted his shoulder.

"Put your head on my shoulder."
"Bu—"
"Do it."

Ethan did as instructed. Travis put his head on top of Ethan's, like they had done so many times before.
There was a long silence before Travis spoke.

"I like you. A lot. And I don't want you to be stressed, Ethan."
"It's alright."
"No it's not. I want to be there for you."
"Well, there's nothing you can do right now."

Ethan closed his eyes and huffed out a breath.

"Ethan?"
"Yeah?"

Travis kissed him on the top of the head and barely leaned away so he just barely had to whisper.

"Cheer the fuck up, you beautiful loser. I hate seeing you being melancholy. If you're ever upset, rant to me. Your voice is addicting, even when you're furious."
"..."
"..."

Ethan looked up.

"What if I recited the phone book?"
"Amazing."
"The 'J' section of the dictionary?"
"Sexy."
"Fuck it, a cookbook?"
"Turn-on."

Ethan laughed and stood up.

"With that being said, I won't be around as often. Are you okay with that?"
"Of course! Although it's fun to see you, I'll manage. We can text as well."
"Good point."
"..."
"I could only come in here for a little while. I'm about to be late."
"Will you be here tomorrow?"
"Yeah. I promise."
