"Didn't I just spend the night yesterday?"

"I have a report to write up."

"Well, the report involves me reading a book, and I—"
"Wuthering Heights. Or keep reading Sherlock."
"How about I read the first chapter or so of both and decide which I like better?"
"That might work too."
Ethan took Wuthering Heights from the "classics" shelf and placed it on the counter.
"How come whenever I buy a book, it's always $7.49?"
"All of the classics have the same price."
Ethan flipped over the book.
"$11.94?"
"Well, yeah."
"Are you telling me you've been giving me a discount from the very beginning?"
Travis shuffled his feet.
"Is that a bad thing?"
"Not at all! How the fuck does your manager not get mad at you?"
"It's my employee discount."
Ethan opened his mouth to speak, then closed it.
"You don't have to waste your employee discount on me, Travis."
"I'm not wasting it, don't worry."
"I still feel bad."
"Don't! You'll make me feel bad."
"I'm taking you shopping, and then we're having a Stranger Things marathon when we get home."
"Netflix and chill?"
Ethan turned around and slapped Travis on the shoulder.
