You were fascinated with mundanes and the mundane world so when Clary brought her best friend into your life, you just couldn't stay away.
The moment you announced your interest for the mundane world, Simon Lewis had wasted no time in introducing you to mundane things. This included all the music, comics and movies he loved.
You loved him for this and he loved you for your interest in the same things he liked. You both really appreciated each other, it showed in your eyes and Clary, being Simon's best friend, made sure she never missed the looks you gave each other.
