Today, I want to challenge you to make a new friend or even just say hello to someone you normally would ignore. Way too often we take for granted our friendships and don't spare a thought towards those who may not be as lucky and mightn't have someone to talk to.
Human connection and basic conversation are needs we all experience, yet for some people, those needs are barely met. One of my teachers always tells us to be as pleasant as possible at work because for some customers, we may be the only person they talk to all day. That never fails to hit home for me because I'm naturally a very social person who likes to talk and I know how terrible I'd feel if one day I suddenly had no one to talk to. No one to cry to, no one to vent to or not even anyone to share a joke with, just completely alone.
Today, I'm giving you this challenge to hopefully prevent that, not just for the person you spark a conversation with, but for yourselves. Technology is seriously affecting our social skills so please take this as an opportunity to expand your skill set and just connect without the internet. You are spectacular and today, I hope someone new learns that too.
