"She is a girl," yelled an elder, "She can never be an Alpha, not a good one!"

"He may be right, Angel," daddy says to mommy, "One of our son's may be a better Alpha."

"Arianna is the eldest child of the current Alpha," mom says, "As stated in pack law 'the rank as Alpha goes to the eldest child of the current Alpha, if the Alpha does not a a child, the Alpha will choose an heir to the Alpha rank."

"She is correct," Lady Beta Carmen, "The law does not specify if the rank goes to the eldest son, only the eldest child.  This law was put in place over 2 centuries ago.  The council enforces it as it is one of the 3 first laws."

"No it is not specified but it is implied," another elder says, "It is implied that the first child of an Alpha is a boy, not a girl!"

"Whether it is implied or not we will follow exactly what the law states," daddy says, "My heir for the Alpha rank will be Arianna."

"And a great one she shall be," mommy says.

"She will be the reason our pack is destroyed," yelled the first elder.

"No she will be the one to strengthen it," Lady Beta Carmen said.

"Yes she will," mommy and daddy say together.
