New Hire

Rey's POV
"How was your date?" Finn smiles and greets me, as I enter the kitchen.

"Morning to you too. Breakfast? Oh yes I would love some."

"I can't tell if it was horrible or so good your pulling back."

"Toast and orange juice does sound good."

I grab the orange juice from the fridge and pour myself a glass.

Finn puts some bread in the toaster.

"Hey Rey, what do you put in a toaster?"

"Bread."

"No bread!" He shouts. "Wait you got it? Usually people say toast."

"Can't fool me Finn." I take a drink and lean against the counter.

The now toast pops up and Finn jumps. "Everytime." He grumbles and grabs a plate.

He hands me the plate of toast and I walk to the breakfast bar.

I sit and begin to eat.

"We're talking after you get some food in you."

"Sorry I can't hear you while I don't care." I say with a mouth full of toast.

My phone begins to ring, so I take a drink and run to my room where it is on the charger.

"Hey Han." I anwser recognizing the number.

"Hey, can you come in about 2pm to train a new hire?" He asks.

"Sure. See you then." I hang up and walk back out, phone in hand.

"Was that Ben?"

"No, his dad."

"Isn't it weird working for your boyfriend's dad?"

"He's not my boyfriend." I state.

"Not yet. It'll happen."

"I wouldn't bet on that."

"Hey Han." I greet as I walk into the back employee area. I tie my apron on around my waist and wash up.

"I just sent the new guy out to hostess stand. He's your responsibility today and yours alone. He'll take breaks with you and shadow you today, so best behavior." Han says peeking out of his doorway. He chuckles. "Can't believe I told you to be good. You're always good." He chuckles again then goes back to his desk. "Good luck." He calls out as I leave the employee area.

I make my way to the waitress station... You've got to be kidding me.

"Hey." Ben smiles at me.

"Hi." I state then clock in. "Okay to clock in you put in your last four digits of your social." He does so.

"Okay what's next boss?"

I roll my eyes.

Ben's POV
"Okay time for our break." Rey tells me.

"Finally."

"It's only been two hours."

"We've been surround by pizza we can't eat though." I point out.

"Oh the torture." She says with heavy sarcasm.

"I'm going to go check in with my dad."

"And by that you mean bother him for a raise right?" Rey raises an eyebrow.

"Ha ha very funny."

I open the employee area door for her and we walk through. I head to my dad's office. I walk in and shut the door, then plop down in the chair.

He glances up and looks at the shut door. "What? Didn't go well?"

"No, it's fine. I just wanted to thank you."

"For what?"

"Giving me the job... and having Rey train me."

"She's one of the best and you listen to her."

"She is pretty great." I smile.

"Don't screw it up Ben, okay?"

"I'll do my best not to."

"No Ben. You will not break her heart. I want you two to be together. Heck that's my dying wish. That's one of the only girls I would approve of you marrying. Maybe the only girl."

"Dad, I promise I will do my best to wife her up."

"That's my boy." He smiles at me.
