Katherine folded her hands on her lap as she looked around in wonder at the magical forest they were surrounded by. The Pevensie siblings were entranced but also upset and disappointed in a way. Peter kept his face stoic as he rowed the boat down the river. Katherine's eyes settled on Lucy as she sadly said,
"They're so still now."

"They're trees. What do you expect?" Trumpkin said scoffing, a permanent frown on his face.

Lucy sighed as she looked back at the trees,
"They used to dance."

"Not to long after you all disappeared the Telemarines invaded Cair Paravel and destroyed it. They slaughtered innocents and your army couldn't hold the walls. Those that did survive retreated to the woods. Much like the trees, they retreated so far within themselves that no one has heard from them since." Katherine said with a frown, slight guilt settling upon her.

The others turned towards her in confusion, but her eyes didn't stray from the forest line. Her lips curled up slightly as she said,
"I know, a girl knowing things? Isn't it quite peculiar?"

Susan turned and gave her brother a smug smirk and he shot back one filled with confusion. Susan knew that Peter would fall for this girl very hard, and very fast.

Lucy didn't notice their looks as she scooted closer to Katherine,
"I don't understand, how could Aslan have let this happen?"

The young princess turned to face Lucy only to find her right next to her. She smiled softly at Lucy and gently said,
"No one has seen Aslan in hundreds of years."

Trumpkin scoffed and folded his arms a crossed his chest,
"I thought he abandoned us after you lot did."

Katherine's emerald eyes watched them all carefully as she noticed each of them frown or cringe in some way. She watched Peter as he clenched his jaw before he looked up at her and Trumpkin,
"We never meant to leave, you know."

"Doesn't make much difference now, does it?" Trumpkin said with a large sigh.

Peters eyes flashed brightly with determination as he said,
"Get us to the Narnians and it will."

Katherine smirked, she definitely liked the young king.
They continued to travel down the river until they finally reached a bank. Peter set down the ores as he and Edmund hopped out of the boat and began to pull it to shore. Edmund helped Susan out and Peter gently lifted Lucy out of the boat before turning back towards the beautiful princess. He held out his hand for her and she smiled as she placed her hand in his as he helped her out and onto the shore. She nodded and smiled as she began to walk towards Susan,
"Thank you."
