Blinding Pain (X-Men Fan Fiction)

Chapter 4

We finally drove up to the C.I.A base in Virginia with our new friend Eric. As we walked in we were greeted by a scientist by the name of Hank. Charles went through his mind and saw he was a mutant. Charles being the idiot he is decide to think out loud. He let go of my hand and I heard him say something stupid.

"Oh, How wonderful another mutant already here. Why didn't you tell me?"

I only heard the agent say "What?" It took Charles a millisecond to realize what he did.

"That's because you don't know. I am so sorry" Charles quickly apologized to Hank

"You didn't ask so I didn't tell" Hank replied

I walked in the direction of there voices til I found Charles' arm. I wrapped my hand around his arm seeing again. I heard Raven ask Hank "So what is you mutation being super smart?"

"Yes, not only did he graduate from Harvard at 13. Hank don't be shy we are all friends here." Charles encouraged

Slowly but surely Hank began taking his shoes then his socks off. Under were the most incredible things I have ever see, and that is saying something. Instead of normal feet he had hands for feet long toes and a thumb.

Hank then demonstrated the used he flipped upside down and gripped on to the model airplane hanging from the ceiling.

Raven gasped "Your incredible!"

"Really?"

Hank smiled I could tell Hank was one of those mutants that never like their appearance always hiding it. So when a pretty girl like Raven tells him he is incredible he'll take it pretty well.

The agent (still don't know his name) showed us to our rooms. Charles and I lied down for a while until he sat up abruptly and said "Erik"

I simply nodded my head and he was off his feet padding the floor. I followed with my feet leading me and my hearing helping as well. I heard him open the door and step out. I remembered seeing a small potted bush when we came in I found it and hide behind it. I heard footsteps coming closer and the door swinging opened again. That was when I tuned my ears in to listen.

"Knowing you, I am surprised you stayed for this long" I heard Charles voice.

"What do you know about me?" Erik replied

"Everything"

"Then you'll know to stay out of my head"

"I am sorry Erik but I have seen what Shaw did to you. I felt you agony. I can help you." Charles retorted

"I don't need your help."

"You need my help last night" Charles said ", here you have the chance to be apart of something bigger than yourself. I won't stop you leaving, I could ,but I won't"

I heard Charles coming back and I step out from behind bush. I stood there as he walked up to me.

"I am very proud of you" I said

"Yes I know I'm amazing" he said kissing me "Come on let's go to bed. I'm tired"

"Fine" I replied giggling

The next morning we had a meeting with the agent ( who I still didn't know the name of, I really need to ask him) about our 'group'

"Hank designed that satellite to amplify brain waves. We can use your telepathic powers help us find other mutants for our division." the agent said.

I heard footsteps in a voice spoke up.

"What if they don't want to be found by you?" he said

"Erik!" I said

"You decided to stay!" Charles exclaimed

"If a new species is being discovered it should be discovered by their own kind Charles, Emilia and I will no suits." he continued

"First of all that's my machine out there. Most importantly this is Charles and Emilia's decision. Charles and her are fine with the CIA being involved. Isn't that right? " the agent declared.

"No I'm sorry we are with Eric" I stated "we will find them alone"

"What if I say no?" he said

"Then good luck using your insulation without us" Charles said.

We were testing the machine next. Charles would use his power to try and find his first mutant. Hank was explaining to us how it worked. It was call Serebro. How it worked was beautiful.

We began gathering more and more mutant I was helping and they were all very sweet, some were just fun to be around. We had found one more person and he was close by at a local bar. We drove there and Charles and Erik went to him well I stayed near the door. I heard them introduce themselves and then the guy say something that was when my heart nearly stopped, I knew that voice. Charles and Erik came back and were about to walk out the door. I slowly walked in the direction I had heard his voice. I sat in the seat next to him. I smell the sent of cigars and knew I was next to him. All I said was "Jimmy?"

"How do you know that...." he began but I knew he recognized me "...Emilia?!"
