"Mmmmh" Aphmau sighed contently as Aaron nuzzled her, as he was almost fully recovered."Heh, I gotta get up." The baby moved slightly between them. Grabbing Aaron's new black jacket that the vault had given him.
They had also given him a much needed shave, and haircut. In fact under all of his roughness he was a very good looking man.
They had gotten a room together in the recovery wing, although Aaron did have to be very careful on how he turned. Because he could very easily break himself again.
"Ah, let go little monster, Daddy has to get up."
"She doesn't want you to leave Aaron." She giggled. Still weak from giving birth.
"I'm just going to fix something to eat, I'm not going anywhere." He grinned and picked up his daughter.
"Isn't that right?" He blew her a raspberry, and she giggled. Her little arms waving up at him.
He chuckled and gave her back to Aphmau. And he took his cane and lumbered over to the stove.
"Hey, we still have to choose a name." She called to him. Rocking the baby back and forth.
"Yeah, I know." He put down a pot and the stove fired up automatically. He took out some carrots and potatoes, he knew how to make stew.
He also found preserved rabbit meat. But he was hesitant to use it, he didn't know how old it was.
"Hmmm.... Hey Aaron." She said, letting the baby grab one of her fingers.
"Yeah?" He chopped the vegetables and put them in the boiling broth.
"Aurora, how's that?" She asked, letting the baby out of her arms. And she balled up her little fists
"Like the northern lights? Up north?" He asked looking at her.
"Yeah, What do you think?" The baby curled up in her chest, babbling away.
"Its a beautiful name. Yeah!" He put the last bit of seasoning into the stew and left it to cook.
"Well then, Aurora. Welcome to the family." Aaron hummed softly. Caressing both Aphmau and Aurora.
"Family?" She blushed at the word, and he chuckled.
"Mmhm, what else are we? Twenty Four hours ago we were Aphmau and Aaron. Now?"
"We are mommy and daddy." He nuzzled her, sighing contently once again. And then blushed.
He had just realized how thin the robes they had given her were. And he could pretty much see through them. Not to mention feel through them.
"Heh, my eyes are up here..." She held his hand on the side of her face. Their other hands on Aurora.
"Are you cold? Those robes are pretty thin." He asked, smiling as he leaned in a little closer.
"N-no, I'm fine, the blankets are warm." She coughed slightly. Still weak, as there were some complications with equipment, and they gave her way to much fluid.
"You just had a baby! How are you fine?!" He laughed, but then he started coughing to.
"Looks like both of us are a little worse for wear huh?" She giggled and she closed the gap between them, the first time they had kissed since they got there.
Aurora started crying for food, and Aaron, respecting her privacy, went to go check on the stew, and he stirred its contents.
" Lilith!"
He whipped his head to the window, to see a young, thirteen year old girl waving into the room from the main hall.
Standing beside her had to be her father, as he was looking disapprovingly down at her.
She had dusty blonde hair, sapphire blue eyes and a smile from ear to ear.
He hit the button to let them in. And glanced at Aph, Aurora was fighting sleep and Aphmau seemed to be just as curious as he was.
"Sir! Sir!" The girl that had to be Lilith had a very high pitched voice, and seemed to have unlimited energy.
"Ah, quiet down! You don't want to wake the baby!" Her father said, smacking her in the back of the head lightly.
"Sorry father... But sir, we found your doggy!" She went quieter at her fathers wishes, but was just as enthusiastic.
"You must mean Impact. Where is he then lass?" He let his facade take over, and her face seemed to light up at his accent.
"He's in the kennel sir! He's quite a pup! But sir, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? It's been awhile since we've seen visitors." She said it all so fast Aaron had to take a second for it to sink in.
"All very good questions..." Aphmau said from her spot on the bed. Finally Aurora was asleep.
"Oh! Sorry Miss, I didn't see you there!" She bowed, and turned to Aaron.
"Well lassie, We're from out in the wasteland, can't say exactly where. But close to the outskirts, near the glowing sea. And well, Heh, it's been a journey and a half to get here." He said, kinda showing off now,
"So your a Waster? Cool! I always heard they could eat iron, and their skin was tougher then Deathclaw scales!" She cried excitely, bouncing about.
"Well, I can't say much for the others but, I'm pretty tough. Bested a Deathclaw in battle. "
"And almost died doing it." Aphmau added. A smirk etched on her face.
"Well...yes, but that's not the point. I still won." He siad, giving her an unamused look.
"We're sorry for intruding in you and your wife Mr..." Her father interjected, he was short and stubby, and smelled like really fancy food.
"Falconclaw, but call me Aaron." He said for him.
"Mr. Aaron, we'll bring Impact up to you." He bowed, and like his daughter smiled from ear to ear.
"Thank you, Mr..." Aaron raised his hand to shake his, although many people thought he was uncultured. He knew his manners.
"Ah, O'Connell, But you can call me Douglass, or Doug for short." He said briskly, shaking Aaron's hand.
"Thank you Douglass, and you too Lilith." Aaron gave a small smile to Lilith and she got even more excited.
"Yes sir, have a good time with your wife!" She ran around her father a few times before stopping.
They both walked out, Lilith with a spring in her step.
They both blushed, as they weren't married, and looked at each other.
"Well, we have a lot of explaining to do."
